The devastation of drug-war imperialism is astonishing - in the 70’s American tourists used to go on trips all throughout the Arab world, Kashmir and Nepal to smoke hash with the local tribes. My uncle toured Kashmir and Bahgad in the 70’s…now most of the countries are wracked by warfare and devastation…

Activists seek legal marijuana in former hippie haven Nepal

Health minister Birod Khatiwada, a powerful member of the governing coalition, has been lobbying for the proposed bill and has registered for debate in Parliament on the issue. He said about 9,000 people are currently in jail on marijuana-related charges.

Legal weed in New Jersey will blaze a trail for surrounding states, New Frontier Data says (msn.com)

hmmmm…sounds familiar - it’s the same gameplan used for “legal” cannabis:

Kenneth Warner, a tobacco expert at the University of Michigan’s school of public health, said the news was a positive step for reducing the harms of smoking. But he lamented that only a vaping device backed by a Big Tobacco company was able to win the FDA’s endorsement.

“The demands the FDA places on companies filing these applications are so extraordinary difficult to meet that only those with huge resources and personnel — in terms of scientists, lawyers, researchers — are able to file successfully,” said Warner.

He said smaller companies and vape shops should have a separate path to get their products authorized.

Food for thought, it would have been better if the writer included links to the studies he is using.

Lmfao. I bet they would find identical results if you measured academic performance against any other recreational activity. How many sports scholarships go to 4.0 GPA students?

Almost like the number one factor is the time you have to devote to your studies.

Quote.
"Carmen Nedohin, who is also with the lobby group, told the committee the proximity of her house to a large grow operation affected how she lives.

The grow operation was “adjacent to a park, a playground, a schoolyard where over 500 children played each and every day,” Nedohin said.

“The stench was so bad that not only could we not enjoy our own backyard, we couldn’t have our grandchildren over because of the fear of what could potentially happen next door.”

Shows how ignorant people are, what could potentially happen next door, their grandchildren break in and eat all the weed, or they get hooked on the smell of weed. There are hundreds of dangerous things that could potentially happen at a neighbours house, the smell from growing weed is not one of them FFS.

Once Winnipeg creates a precedent, I think a lot of cities will probably follow in a bid to keep the money flowing to the LPs. Soon you wont be able to grow on your property, full stop.

When I read this …I thought fucking shit…25 years for having a vape pen with some CBD in it.
What’s going on…Those Arab nations need to get there own house in order…stoning women, cutting of limbs and other atrocities…

While I do not support jail time, I tell people all the time , when your in a foreign country ya need to be a gracious guest and respect the house rules. If not, you may not like the consequences.

“respect the house rules” of cruelty and tyranny? I think noncompliance is the correct response to human evil and abuse. Otherwise cannabis would still be illegal and our community would continue to be targeted for persecution. If everyone in the USA and Canada had “respected house rules” and cowered in fear & submitted to fascist control cannabis would certainly still be illegal today.

Passive resistance means never move to a place where they abuse people this way, this guy learned that lesson a little too late.

Speaking of being busted through smartphone use…look what the folks at Rutgers U are up to:

That article is being incredibly vague about how they came to these conclusions.
This is the study, 57 people, 33female 24 male, age 18-25. Over a 30 day period

Time features (i.e. time of day, day of the week) appear to be among the most important features contributing to model performance.

This whole study is shite. They’re going to make a lot of money off of this, and its all smoke and mirrors. Cats picking lottery numbers, and octopus’ picking stocks.

Smartphones detecting intoxication thru algorhythms… Sounds about as accurate as crystals predicting the future…

What if the user is clumsy and uncoordinated in their usual, not-high state? Basing things on time, what do they search more diligently around 4:20?? I smoke whenever, morning, noon, night, overnight, its not like “oh hey, its 6pm, time for my nightly bowl!” Sounds hokey to me… The government would LOVE a way to measure cannabis intoxication like you can alcohol intoxication. Since they haven’t been able to develop a “breathalyzer for weed”, you can bet your ass that someone will develop some other way to measure it and sell it to the govt.

And sensors ain’t always right! For my car insurance I had to put a little dongle in my vehicles to show driving habits for 1 month. Well, there was a certain intersection, slight uphill slope, angle down to the right, that I had to drive thru daily. Its an intersection you do NOT blow thru, nor even approach at speed, you almost always roll to a stop there. Well, for whatever reason, that sensor kept saying I was braking REALLY hard there, every single time I stopped at that stop sign, despite almost rolling to a stop with minimal braking used. I had to complain to the insurance company about it (hard braking was a negative obviously, and would reflect on my “driving style”). They agreed that there was the potential for flaws with its reporting methods. But they STILL rely on it!!! smh…
