When state officials came to our little town to test legalization waters, under the guise of stopping illegal grows in national and state parks, I had the chance to tell them of the problems of excessive taxation had forced many Washington farmers to go back underground. They poo-poo’d the idea and it quickly became obvious that the real reason the state was considering recreational legalization was they saw it as their own private Golden Goose.
this video is unbelievable!!!

“Brought to you by Pfizer!”

Pretty much every mainstream news media company has a pharmacuitacle CEO sitting on its board of directors.
This is so they can collect the 50 billion dollars a year their pharmacuitacle companies spend bribing, sorry I meant sponsoring, the news media companies, back into their own pockets. It’s legal money laundering of money that would be taxed but is now used as a advertising tax write off.
" Although Tilray 's CEO Irwin Simon was dismissive of craft, referring to them as “ankle biters,” they pose a serious challenge to the industry’s top companies and their ability to generate revenue growth." Too bad Irwin. In another 5 to 10 years, tops, cannabis will be grown and sold like lettuce or maybe asparagus. Maybe even like $4 bottles of wine. Those with access to capital will buy up the competition to become profitable by quantity. Very likely the craft farmers will be the ones developing the quality much like the wine labels that are able to take the time to create the gold medal winners that sell for high prices. But the big difference between quality wine and quality cannabis - Only a few can make quality wine, anybody can grow quality cannabis in their back yard, greenhouse, rooftop, or closet grow tent. So raising the price of pot only inspires more to grow their own or maybe get some from a friend. The price has gone from a high of $4,000 a pound down to $700 and will continue lower. So Irwin, if you hope to make a good living in retail, I suggest you find another business. Maybe asparagus?

this guy is just talking big to impress his investors - or con them out of more money. I’ve been hanging out at this local Cheers-like bar lately - turns out all of the regulars are stoners, every one, all different ages, and they all laugh and tell jokes about their “drug dealer”. None of them buy at the dispensaries. About a dozen people. Massachusetts.
The size of the traditional market here has been estimated at 65% by the industry, I think it’s more like 95% of the sales are in the underground. Especially if you include home-grown and sharing more like 98%.
QUOTE. If the cost of growing a gram of marijuana in the United States or Canada is around two dollars, this can be accomplished in Colombia for just six cents on the dollar.
Not before time…If Colombia does get its act together…this would really benefit the Colombian people.
I do hope it happens, makes so much sense…just got to reign in there political shenanigans.
This part of the article interests me…
“Colombia is the second world exporter of dried cannabis flower (only behind the Netherlands)”
Which countries are legally importing flower? I know CBD oils and tinctures are being shipped across border lines but dried flower… never heard of that before. Especially as it’s still technically illegal in Holland.
My wife was in Medellín last week and said there were people everywhere blazing tree freely in the streets, made me smile.
She also said it was mostly good quality going on the smells
Our turn next hopefully @Panamajock
Maybe the elephant in the room is the United Kingdom…supposed to be number one exporter in Europe…biggest farm in Norfolk…,owned by British sugar…used to be Tate and Lyle…has members of Parliament , as directors…one is the husband of ex prime minister Teresa May.
Yet they are still busting people for home growing and very few people have access to medicinal cannabis …bit hypocritical if you ask me.

I really do hope Colombia gets into the market…and grows there landraces…keep out the big company’s and finally gets a bit of luck in there struggles. …I do love smoking weed in Colombia, never lets you down…maybe it’s the ambience.
Parque Lleras in Poblado smoking great weed and drinking Colombia club dark beer from the kiosks….Priceless.
Sorry excuse my ignorance mate but what does this mean? Exporting hemp for CBD products? Or actual psychoactive flower? Are they sending plant matter or is it being processed first? And yes it’s totally hypocritical. Same with allowing the selling and exporting of seeds in the UK but not being allowed to grow them.
I do too, unfortunately I feel a lot of the gene pool is being polluted by polyhybrids but I hope I’m wrong. I too smoked some amazing stuff when I was in Colombia, especially in Santa Marta and ridiculously cheap. The ambience definitely helps but there’s no denying they have quality tree too.
I heard you talking in another thread about the safety there these days, my wife said she felt very safe last week and people were telling her she had nothing to worry about. There’s obviously region’s which are a no-go but that’s always been the case. The influx of Venezuelan immigrants who are desperate seems to be pushing the crime rate up a little but that’s expected.
Have you taken your vacation yet here in CR? If so how was it? I’m sure it’s changed some since covid
If they can get cut flowers up here from Central America into grocery stores they should easily be able to export dried flowers…Colombian Gold was legendary.
Still have this NHTSA graph - the data speaks for itself:
With multiple layers of “regulations” there will always be resultant rampant corruption.
No next week, I’ve got to get my Covid booster on Monday…then I’m off…need a break.
Ye my last visit to Colombia two years ago next month…just before Covid I was in Santiago de Cali
There were demonstrations nearly every day and nights…and I did get a bit of abuse, In general I’ve never had anything but good vibes in Colombia and is pretty safe as long as your kind of streetwise…The FARC Pardon was a big thing there and womens rights marches seemed to be every day…We getting loads of violence with gang in fighting and kidnapping in Panama past months …American guy murdered for a Ransom last week…Lots of Venezuelan
S here as well…they are not the problem … cant blame anyone for trying to get a better life. No I will go back to Colombia…but give Cali a miss.
Moment Mexico is still on my mind…I’ve also being looking at Suriname for a visit…seems to have a good weed scene and the scenery and nature looks amazing.
Will let you know how the trip to Ticolandia goes.

The only stuff I can cleam about that Uk operation is that they process the weed into nuggets then export it, don’t know if it’s THC or CBD
100% mate, I wasn’t trying to blame them for the crime more stating that desperate people do desperate things and unfortunately the Colombian government is putting the blame on them as more of a scapegoat rather than factual truth.
Most of my friends here in CR are Venezuelan, great people.
We leave in 6 weeks, can’t wait. Let me know if you make it up there, be good to burn one over a coldy.
I really know nothing about Suriname, just googled to read a bit about it. Looks beautiful, very impoverished though unfortunately… I’m sure they’d be stoked to see you there.
Safe travels mate
more disturbing news on MPP selling us out - very sad. I worked with this org. for 15+ years…do not give them a dime!!! Give to NORML instead.
Most people don’t know we fought a huge battle with these assholes in Mass. and Maine to make sure we got home-growing in our ballot iniatitives…
400 grand in cash…nice haul for the blue pirates…
Today, Kessel sits in the Ocean County Correctional Facility where he’s been held without bail since Oct. 20. Berkeley Township Police arrested him on money laundering and marijuana distribution charges. They confiscated his jeep, with its Bud Hub signage, $400,000 in cash and an unknown quantity of marijuana from his Berkeley home and a property in Toms River.
