Cannabis Current Events (Part 2)

It’s not ideal, but it’s a major step in the right direction

If this is the direction you want to go…

Think about it well before you decide what is best.
Medical patients may no longer be allowed to grow their own medicine.
That could become costly and out of reach for poor folks like me, especially if insurance companies won’t pay for it. :money_mouth_face:

There is a lot more to this, if you look hard you will see this could be really bad for some folks.

I hope not but the govt. usually screws up what it touches, so you could say I have little faith. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Fine I’ll accept schedule 3, if they apply Schedule 2 to alcohol and tobacco

Schedule II

Schedule II drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with a high potential for abuse, with use potentially leading to severe psychological or physical dependence. These drugs are also considered dangerous. Some examples of Schedule II drugs are: combination products with less than 15 milligrams of hydrocodone per dosage unit (Vicodin), cocaine, methamphetamine, methadone, hydromorphone (Dilaudid), meperidine (Demerol), oxycodone (OxyContin), fentanyl, Dexedrine, Adderall, and Ritalin

What happened to MY BODY MY CHOICE with these people? Nothing should be scheduled unless it is a poison.

Let us be honest here…
Is cannabis more or less addicting than xanax, atavan, darvocet, soma ect.?
It is not even close and these are a lower sch. 4 drug.
So why the hell would you say it should be sch. 3?
5 makes sense but 3 is just another lie.
Why accept the lies, why???

I agree 100%
This is just common sense.

Wake up people, they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes again with these silly lies they like to tell us all. :astonished:

Why do we tolerate these sort of lies, don’t we now know the truth?
If so why accept lies as realistic?

If it is going to be a law, it should at least make some sense.
Maybe it is just me but I see this as nothing but more lies to fit their agenda…again.

Stop accepting the lies that turn into laws that govern the masses.
Laws based on lies are unjust laws and we have a duty to humanity to stop passing unjust laws based on known lies.

Why is this sooo hard for some folks to see?
It is blatantly obvious for me. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

There’s an old joke I always thought was really funny that goes “I’ve been smoking cigarettes every day for 25 years and I’m not addicted yet!”

Stocks even jumped because of this talk.
This is all about the money and nothing more. :money_mouth_face:
I really wish folks would see this action for what it really is…All about the money. :grimacing:

If addiction and adverse health effects were the driving concern for the fascists, Sugar would have been banned by now.

What about using a crowdsourcing/kickstarter type platform that is cannabis friendly that can be used to raise the funds we need to level the playing field? The politicians only speak one language, and I think we know which one that i$

I don’t think we can rely on NORML and other groups that are likely compromised by special interests

When has it never been about the money?

It took the greater part of a century to get where we are now, and change won’t come overnight. While Schedule 3 is FAR from ideal, it’s also far better than Schedule 1. At least scientists don’t have to move the heavens and the Earth to research it. Schedule 3 will also allow a lot of jurisdictions to deal with it as they please, and many will do nothing at all.
Schedule 3 is going to cause problems for some, but will bring relief to many, many others.

Why is this?
Did they lie to us?
Are they still lying?
It sure looks like that to me.
Why do we accept lies as truth?
Cause these lies are better than the lies we had before.

My point is why accept Schedule 3 when it is clearly the wrong classification for cannabis?

@Herrsquidward do you feel cannabis is a Schedule 3 drug?
If not why accept this lie?
This action is only about the money nothing more.

I do see your point @Zolorp

We wouldn’t be having this conversation if the criminals who run his country actually gave a damn about any of us. I agree, it’s not nearly enough. I understand your frustration, and think the perpetrators of the farcical drug war should have long ago been in front of a firing squad. I’ll take what I can get, though, and this is at least a major step in the right direction.

Why would you say THAT!!!

I think Indian hemp, cannabis, impacts so many industries that it’s regulation is being lobbied by many angles for many reasons. The plant is an exceptional value to mankind, it’s weath. One can clothe, shelter, feed, and medicate oneself and their family/village/town with cannabis Indian hemp. Not only that, it grows exceptionally fast all things considered and demonstrates hardiness across a multitude of climates. Seeds rich in omegas for human nutrition and also for agricultural feed as we are what our food eats. Valuable essential oils and other secondary metabolites.

It will be interesting to see if/when the rest of North America follows the trend of Canada and reschedules outside of United Nations decisions.

Paper too. Paper and clothing. I think the biggest vote someone has is with their spending, their dollars. These are consumable products that translate to billions if not trillions of dollars in real sales. Placing real demand from the textiles and construction industries, the agricultural industries and such should open the doors for more efficient means of cultivation practices which I would hope to naturally encourage expanding into medicine.

That said, the medicine part would be something of it’s own. In regulated industries like pharmaceuticals and such, I don’t think they’ll be prescribing flower to be smoked, it’ll be more in the form of botanical drug products, highly purified concentrations to then be dosed appropriately from. Perhaps flower for vaporization, but I don’t think a medical approach would ever suggest smoking.

The cool bonus is the ecological impact. Less toxic synthetic gross stuff on trains sometimes going “oops” into the water ways. Less micro plastics finding their way into the worlds oceans and in turn it’s sea life. It can make fuel too! It’s not the most efficient way to derive fuel compared to other means, though considering things like ecological impacts and such it’s all sort of relative. Vehicles built out of hemp composite panels, propelled by hemp derived fuel, while you’re smoking on and sharing a spliff with your favorite humans, driving up to your hemp composite constructed abode, hemp based insulation, hemp based plaster. Frying up some fish fed fresh and living hemp seeds and sprouts in some hemp cooking oil. Writing on hemp stationary a gratitude journal, and a few things for the next days to do list. Probably feed the fish more hemp. The plants variety of uses increases it’s efficiency in ways that impact so many avenues of wealth. It’s opposed from a myriad of angles as a result of conforming to it’s prohibition for the past century.

If I saw 100% organic hemp twine for bundling and such at the local hardware store I’d pay double just to vote for that business and individual to succeed over the status quo of petrochemical competition. In the same breath, being mindful of the products we’re purchasing and who are actually running those businesses, how those operations functions and what impact they have on humans and the earth is an important consideration. No chance I’m buying that same roll of 100% organic hemp twine if it’s a DuPont or 3M product. If money is energy, and energy is neither created or destroyed only changes forms. Voting with how we purchase things is what I believe to be the recipe for success. Much love

Another factor is de-sensitization. People are going to realize that legal cannabis doesn’t mean the end of the world. In fact, very little will change. People are going to care less and less about it, resulting in de facto legalization in many places.
I know, it can’t happen quickly enough to suit us, but let’s count our blessings. This is good news, arguably the best news we’ve ever gotten.

That’s a great point. I think it’s important to turn the corner of when we see hemp and cannabis based products to not instantly associate them with drug innuendos. For example, if discussing hemp insulation to forego the jokes of “will it get you high” so focus can be placed on the inherent value of whatever utility it’s being presented as. To have ones mind go towards it’s potential R-value in the instance of hemp insulation, or something to that effect. De-sensitization helps frame the tone of the conversation and the subsequent cultural attitudes and views. It’s essential! I enjoy your shared perspectives and feel I learn something helpful and new each time I read one of your comments. Much love

Politics are downstream of culture. Even now, many running for office are are making legalization/decrim part of their platform. I never thought I’d see the day… I remember 1996, when California became the first state ever to allow “marijuana” in any form whatsoever. Things have changed. A lot.

I believe this will affect the homegrowers in the legal states.
