Do they still have those kind of things in Maine? I think they did… but not sure if they got rid of them.
Typical political or lawyer speak. They ignore its benifits and refuse to accept it as so. If they said, it has no medical benifits, that would be a lie and they know it.
If I remember correctly it was because of Nixon (70’s). He asked for studies on how unhealthy cannabis is, and all the studies came back saying it improves health and heals cancer (rick simpson oil, smoking isn’t gonna do much for cancer or any other disease). Apparently he ripped apart the studies he had in his hands and went ahead and made it illegal, likely because he was paid off by big pharma, because chemotherapy is big business. It’s in the interest of big pharma that people keep getting sick and stay sick for as long as possible without dying so they can sell lots of their “medicine” and make big bucks, because can’t patent a plant anyone can grow themselves.
I have a drug in my medicine cabinet that was first synthesized 100 years ago. I find it useful. It’s also dirt cheap but it’s not a front line agent, probably because there’s no money in it.
I used to take a sulfa drug (sulfasalazine) for my ulcerative colitis. It’s in a class of drugs created/discovered before penicillin. Super inexpensive to buy and no longer available. I think it’s for just that reason. No profit.
My doctor said I’m probably the only person in the province taking it.
This medicine can also clothe you, provide material for construction of a dwelling, bear nutritious seed and more. It can be made into fuel as well. I know it’s redundant as I’ve mentioned it fairly recently, but the utility of this plant is incredible and it can reach maturity quickly all things considered. It doesn’t require special synthetic materials and specialized machinery. In turn it doesn’t leave one nearly as reliant and dependent on others.
@Rogue I believe it’s speculated that Nixon wanted to disenfranchise his opposition in the anti-war hippies and groups of other vote wielding minorities and used cannabis as a way to do so. The Shafer report was supposed to be a cherry picked slam dunk against cannabis and the commission came back recommending decriminalization. The idea for such a report was likely a political move suggested by his political manager John Mitchell who was later appointed Attorney General and classified it schedule 1. This political manager later appointed Attorney General was formerly an attorney and bonds consultant to Governor Rockefeller in New York where he created what’s known as moral obligation bonds. These bonds exact purpose were confirmed later by Mitchell to be a way of bypassing the rights of voters to approve debt in a referendum.
And to think, I am now just learning of Martha Mitchell. What a brave woman! Supposedly this John Mitchell character had a wife who was very outspoken about the current events of her time especially as they related to her then husbands work. She said she was drugged and held captive to keep her opinions from reaching the mainstream, she was labeled a drunk which in of itself is ironic considering the quotes Nixon has about alcohol and it’s permissibility, and it’s claimed they even beat her up so severely she needed stitches.
When Nixon appointed Mitchell to the cabinet position of Attorney General it’s said that he did so with an unprecedented direct appeal to J. Edgar Hoover that the usual background check not be completed.
Just a bunch of crooks and cronies. I used to think that gears of politics turn slowly so to not get so discouraged with the seemingly slow progress, and while I’m thankful for progress it’s research like this that helps show that change can be instantaneous and that it doesn’t have to be so slow. If it can willy nilly and unabashedly be placed scheduled 1 in the face of the commission suggesting decriminalization then it can just as easily be removed from schedule 1 and should be. There’s no excuse for continuing with the charade put on by these immoral individuals with self serving interests. Vote with your dollars! How and where you spend your time, it’s currency too! Much love
Rick Simpson oil would definitely be beneficial for most people.
Good stuff!
I like to keep mine in suspension and do it like a shot, I am not a fan of the tarry stuff.
The the more vile it tastes, the better medicine it is!
More reason to grow and roll your own
Like I said before the end game of that line of research is only having Corporate Government Stores selling seeds for Government Script. It is the Robber Barron Days on Steroids.
Hold on to your seeds and make more. I’m not sure what triploids will do but seedless plants is not what we want. Say no to sterile cannabis.
It will be just like commercial food and animal feed farming. If you do not buy the highest-yielding seeds the other guy who does will run you out of business. Then there is the great risk of the gene leaking into the wild. How would wild cannabis survive if they suddenly started making so few seeds?
I do not disagree…But…
Some folks swear that is never going to happen.
Some folks say that is just fear-mongering.
Some folks would tell you your overthinking things.
This sorta stuff could never happen it is all fear-mongering.
You don’t wanna know what I think of some folks…LOL
They made the mistake of driving cannabis to the black market for decades, there’s no way to eradicate seeded cannabis or eliminate competition now.
Too many people have the knowledge, desire, and impetuous to keep cannabis genes going. Something like this would light a bigger fire under the community than prohibition or commercial growing combined.
I must say I wish this were true, it may in the future, but my hope is dim.
I have been trying to tell folks about this sorta thing for over 10 years.
The fires lit by this are barely smoldering.
As I said in the post above they just say it is fear mongering.
Here is a post I made here…
