that headline could fit with any industry in the us…

Those Deangelo brothers are the worst of the worst. Harborside was the biggest ripoff of a dispo Ive ever seen. Not to mention they treated vendors like absolute crap. The cali industry would be a lot better off if those two went far away from it, instead of giving corporate brands free marketing in Forbes.
I’ve seen ads and heard the name quite a bit, but I never stepped foot in the place. Happily, as it turns out. Thank you, @BackyardBoogie420.
Have to say most trade shows would be corporate entities. Small farms can’t take the time or money to do a lot of these events
Back in the 215 era, I did almost every cup up and down the state. All you needed was 1200-3000 bucks, and a sellers permit, and you could sell anything you wanted. 8ths, lbs, merch, it was amazing. Truly farmers market style. Then prop 64 came in, and booths became 10-15k, and if you sold any product it had to be through the show promoter’s distro, which would take 10-15% of all profits off the top. It went from lots of little crews like mine that made their living doing a show every month or so, to only giant corporations doing a trust fund kid circle jerk. Lots of money, no talent or substance anymore.
The ny events don’t allow any sales. It’s more of a networking thing. I’m sure if you could sell and generate sales small farms would show up
Any ny event with sales is black market no matter how great the presentation currently
It would be awesome if farmers could sell their product like this and not get grossly taxed and limited. I would gladly support this if it ever came around. I personally like to know the person who grew what i consume and in turn I know where I can invest into someone who aligns with my needs
