Oh my… he’s a chonker!
What a glorious belly!!!
UPDATE: Little Scooter was definitely a trooper. After two weeks of nursing his frail little body the cute little guy started stumbling weakly around the house (trying to escape we assume) and a few days later started meowing at us. We carried him out to the back yard during the daytime hours and he seemed to enjoy exploring, lying in the grass, and hiding from the sun under the plants. Sadly we woke up Sunday morning and he was in a catatonic state. We carried him outside and he passed away under the Rosemary plant he had seemed so happy to earlier lie under. I am amazed at how attached I had become to that cute little guy in the three weeks he graced my household; he is already missed.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve befriended lots of feral cats, and sometimes we can’t really do much for them other than offer hospice services. They do grow into family damn quick.
Clearly, you guys are loving people. The best.
Late last year I started TNR-ing (trap, neuter, return) some feral cats around my house. In total I captured 6 cats, and now I just feed them every day
Sylvester
Blackie
Sammy
Tommy
Hobie
Moochie
Cats are so innocent, and so many of them are alone in this world… there are lots of loners who don’t get along with any other cats but seem happy to have some occasional human companionship.
Scooter is buried in the deepest corner of my back yard, wearing one of my tie-dyed t-shirts, surrounded by bricks to keep him secure. We have been heartbroken at his loss but are lucky to have a dozen other local kitties who come by regularly to help keep us smiling
These kitties are SO adorable! I’ll take the uncaged black one and the Calico…and the tabby…and…well, you might as well send them all
Never being a cat person these 2 took me by surprise. Abandoned and afraid they showed up at my door. It took a few days but they warned up to us and became part of the family. The male was loud, calling out while running home. One of the neighbors didn’t like this and after an anonymous letter warning us to “quiet out cat down” or else he was beat half. To death and poisoned. I’ve sat up with him for the last 2 week s as he tried to fight it but he just couldn’t beat the infection and anorexia from the weight loss at the same time. It is not fair but what in life is?

Precious!
I got on the bed and we napped shortly after I took this photo.
This is later, in the evening after dinner.
