Chat room (let's chat!) šŸ’¬ (Part 1)

Yes it is :frowning:

I like the urethanes but they are not very environmentally friendly and itā€™s really important to not breathe that shite. But they do produce beautiful paint jobs, once you know how to use them and the reducers.

Cool stuff. Thatā€™s what I like reading about. You can tell all you want on my page. We all grow. Some more than others. Man I love that stuff.

Cool stuff? I glad to see car people.

I only used urethanes for fire, I hated being stuck out in my workshop paint booth with a mask on. Acrylics I can use in the comfort of my art room/man cave in the house, without killing all the pets and the family lol.

I would like to try acrylics some day. I quit doing paint for a variety of reasons. Not liking it was not one of those reasons. Have not even touched my airguns or airbrushes in probly 10 years. May get them out and try the auto-air stuff. Back then water based was not good for automotive due to longevity, etc.

I love the old school lacquer paint jobs. Yea my favorite. I would change the color on my car every other week. This was over 30 years ago. I got a few jobs Iā€™m finishing up right now. 100% restoration. I canā€™t paint like i once did. I never did anything like you shown there. I did the flames and some graphics but not like that. That looks amazing

I would go for the createx wicked or ilustrative paints if I was going to buy all new paint. Man when I first started 15 years ago my airbrush nearly got slung down the back yard several times in frustration lmao. Constant tip dry, clogging, spitting and blow outs. Water based paint then was definitely crap. Now there is not much difference other pigment strength, and that is mainly with yellow and orange for some reason. The colour fast is as good as urethane now. The good thing about acylics is you can paint on clothing with it as well and seal it with a iron, or heat press if you want to spend a lot of bucks.

I could see some stuff off a little. Wasnā€™t :100: sure. Maybe because it may have shown your shop. I still love it. Iā€™m sure you have more than just that one. I love that stuff. My hands arenā€™t as good as they once was. Not complaining. Just age. I like your hobby. I have friends that are into that kind of stuff. They even do hot wheel cars. They were talking about doing some buffing on some windshield. They were talking about the little micromesh kit.

I paint on everything and anything lol, I have only done a couple of scale model RC vehicles. I have tons of stuff, I have painted over the years.

Have not found any old pics of my bikes. Well maybe my very first old school chopper. But i did find some sample tins I did for customers. The blue one is the ā€˜Ghostā€™ flames. I ended up doing this exact job on a HD and 2 matching helmets.

Then This crackle candy wineberry i did this on a Yamaha Venture. Like the full dressed bikes with saddlebags and trunk. Also did one helmet to match.

And this I called Toxic Green Fire and tried to sell it to a guy wanting his Hayabusa painted. I lost that sale. But I thought the paint was cool.
