Hey guys! Just a quick question… what size fan should I get for a 2.7x5x7 tent? I have a 200cfm for a 2x4x5 and it sucks the sides in lol any help would be appreciated :blush:

@hollyho , I used 2x2 lumber and drilled holes the same size as my tent frame’s tubing.

I cut them to length (4ft long, and 2ft long respectfully) THROUGH the predrilled hole leaving 1/2 of the circle in place on the ends of each cut section.

Then drill a hole through the 2x2 behind the groove, this is for quick ties which will hold the wood to the vertical pole of your tent.

The grooves will now allow you to fit the 2x2’s in between the bars keeping your tent from sucking in and with the bonus of being able to use them to support items like hygrometers, etc. Secure them with quick ties, and put 1-2 quick ties under the wood on the vertical pole to prevent any slippage.

Regarding fan: MORE AIR = ALWAYS BETTER!

:hugs:

I read that but can’t picture it :woman_facepalming::joy:

I want to straighten up the house before I try it. If the cops do come and they ant to check on my grow I want to be all legal, spick and span.

Stuffed with crappy outdoor weed, too much bugs and stuff as well as pollinated by ditchweed. Well over a pound, maybe two. Stuffed it full and then stuck the rest in from the top. might be too full and rather than light up in a good flame it may just smolder. Might have to make sure there is a good draw up the stack.

2.7x5x7=94.5 cu ft
200 cfm would get the job done even with carbon filter methinks

So another one just like this one? It’s a 4”.

4” right? Or should I jump on a 6”?

I’d go for a 6". Every moment you have to make a 45 or 90 degree turn with air flow, it will be losing strength. Your plants will thank you later!!

I’ll just be going straight across the top tho. Still 6”?

What’s the difference between these 2 types of fans? Ones just fatter than the other? :joy: I accidentally ordered an ac infinity booster fan once. It sucked so I don’t want to mess up again lol

I have one like the one on the bottom.

If I’m correct, the second one is turbo whereas the first is just an exhaust fan!!

Turbo = quieter!

Funny enough i use both types. An AC Infinity T6 which is like the bottom image; and the same vivosun in the top image.

Two different styles of fan blades but both do their job.

I’m not sure if the ipower is PWM like the ac infinity; but that’s mainly helpful if you want it run off of an accurate controller and it’s quieter.

I could literally run one in my bedroom they’re so quiet.

I thought about the ducting as well, but even if the filter + ducting decreased fan efficiency by a full 50%, you’d still be getting a full air exchange every minute with a 4 inch; imo that’s plenty. A 6" is just spending money for more than they’d need (unless @hollyho plans on a bigger tent in the near future).

Has anyone seen the latest grow LEDs (IONGRID T series) from AC Infinity?
Still in development, but I would like some when available.

Hi @HeadyBearAdventures, you seemed to have taken the words out of my mind, I was gonna ask that, kinda ironically, 'cause I do know the answer. lol!! Would he/she ever consider “degrowing!?” if you know what I mean! Expansion is the name of the game!!

Morning awesome OGers!!!

Don’t get the Vivosun. They work ok, but service after sale sucks out loud!
Wife got that Vivosun fan for me. I stored it unopened for about 6 months. Finally set up a new tent with it. Worked great. For about a month. Then started making a clattering noise. I thought it was going to explode. Contacted several times and got no response. After a couple weeks I actually called and talked to a rep. She said they would investigate. Then I heard nothing. I emailed their support team and still got no response. I will never buy another Vivosun product. Ever. They suck.
I now have AC infinity. They cost more but are very quiet and light weight. I would buy that again.

I gotta agree with you on that cuz lol I bought a couple of the wall mount Vivosuns and they worked well…for a few months! Then they either stopped rotating or stopped the speed control, or stopped altogether lol
Never again!

The son actually took both apart and cleaned them, tweaking a bit of the mechanism and they worked again…for another month or so! lol

vivosun does suck. i bought a small tent of theirs from amazon and the zippers got stuck. i had to wd40 it. i picked up a 5x5 ac infinity and it looks like it’ll do the trick. might just use the vivosun for breeding purposes.

Never used thier tents, but have their lights and fans, and absolutely no complaints about those. You have anything besides their tent?
