I get alot of power outages where I live. I had no power for 2 and a half days and luckily I had no herms.
Just keep an eye on them.
Your plants just got an extra 12 hours sleep thats all!
I hope you and @Donnie have decent backup gennys! I had the same problem with the last place we were lol I always had to make sure plenty of gas for my gennys!
Now thatās hard to say since they were just purchased and are again available on seedsherenow. I will definitely be growing them, making seeds is a maybe. Well probably, lol, we shall see. Either way there will be Blue Kush in my closet at some point so I am stoked.
I unfortunately do not have a generator yet.
No generator here , we normally donāt have many outages and when we do they are generally quick to get the power back on
Damn dude, that can be a bad thing if power is gone for awhile, like a day or more.
Iāve lost all my food in the fridge/freezer twice.
I got rid of my deep freezer for that reason.
The trick to saving food when the power goes out is to not open the fridge or freezer and you will be good for awhile
I learned that afterā¦
That and hitting the store for blocks of ice to throw in. A fridge and freezer are very well insulated, bags or blocks of ice will keep the stuff good forever. Thatās why they used to deliver the big blocks of ice to everyoneās homes for their ice boxes before electric appliances became the thing.
@DiggySoze
from the chart the minimum current is 10 A for that one it looks like. Minimum voltage of 20.4 so about 200 watts of load. Doubt it was designed with those parameters in mind though Iād go at least 240 watts of load. Never hurts to ask them
I was not aware you could drive those things with DC input Those ballasts are something.
Thatās when they had ice boxes not refrigerators lol but ice will definitely help
I do that now. Funny thing is alot of people do that around here so it can be sold out, I have to drive into town sometimes. Then when I get home the damn power is back on.
Yes, thatās why I said āfor their ice boxes before electric appliances became the thingā. I know all too well about losing food. Lost both fridges at different times last year at my lake house. It was a sad summer for appliances, lol. Not to mention the fact that I just stocked up on Pork Loins so it was quite the disgusting ordeal. Also when I found out they would not take a fridge at the dump unless it was certified by a technician to be Freon free.
I used to have an ice box
wow, really?! Certified? No appliance pickup and it must be sent to a shop? Somebody could do well on used appliances. Not sure it really helps.
Grew up with one as a kid lol
Yup, here in the city you just put it on the curb and remove the door. Up north they want it certified Freon free. I found a scrap guy who took them in the end and I just had to pay him to have them certified which probably meant he broke the lines and crushed them but thatās on him.
that little bit of freon is not really impactful. I once put 4-30lb 404a jugs in a system because of a clamp that got hard and the rubber wore out. Beat a hole in the pipe. Those little fridges hold a lb or less. (no freon was added till the leak was identified btw)
Took over 600lb out of an ice rink floor once. r22
