Try these. Just became a sponsor. Might need to register to look. @ShitSeeds will give ya the lowdown.
Iāll look into them. I was considering going through the landrace team, I donāt know how popular/pricy they are Iāve never run their stuff. It seems like there are some hoops to jump through for either site so itās about a push in terms of ease.
Nice boots
Lol thanksā¦ I think one of those 40oz costs more than the boots .
Just ordered some glass dropper bottles 30ml on amazon for hopes to one day soon make some tincture / oil
So, periodically I do some tree work with a friend whoās a climber. Got a bunch of jobs he brought me in on the last two weeks. Lemme just say, its not a job for the weak, nor the dainty! We took down 5 trees today in 6 hours, and had lunch. All easily 70 footers, including 3 ash, a hickory (GORGEOUS wood), and a silver mapleā¦ And we donāt just drop stuff, that fās up yards. So we rig everything except the smallest of branches. Talk about an ass kickingā¦ Neighbor asked if he could have the ash wood. OF COURSE! (less for us to bring outta there). Only problem was a 4ft high chain link fence which we had to work over with the rigging, pushing 10ft logs to the other side before dropping em all the way down.
Yeah, my body is feeling the last two weeks tonightā¦
just wait till they only want it if it has spalting or say keep itā¦
_
The job we were at yesterday had a maple with GORGEOUS spaltingā¦ Damn skippy that came with us. Of course, while he was loading some of the larger logs yesterday via a skidsteer, we blew the hydraulic line on the thumb / grappler. So now weāre rigging logs to a disabled grappler. But we loaded that trailer fullā¦ TWICEā¦ The climber just bought a 36" millā¦ With the current lumber prices, plus his dimensional and gorgeous wood, heās making a killing and will pay for the mill 4x over by years endā¦
Edit: he normally removes all tree matter, unless they have a fireplace or friends who want the wood. When they say leave it, its a bonusā¦ Because we plan on taking it.
The chipper he has is heavy duty, we chip 10-14" diameter logs in that thing!
Ok folks hereās a Public Announcement for yāall
My original 3-Ring Circus has been moved to the Private Lounge (Many thnx to @LemonadeJoe )

Iām happy there lol not having to delete stuff now!
Too private for me, apparently the bouncers donāt like me. Have fun in there alone.
Donāt worry, youāll get there soon enough. Just keep participating
Besides, its @Slick1 they donāt like. Last time he was there he brought a goat in ladies lingerie!
Yes chain saws and trees is an ass kicking! Been a long time for me but I remember that I did not even have the energy left to play checkers at the end of the day. Had a wind storm in August that took out about 25 trees and had a tree service with lifts 80 feet up getting us cleaned up, the rest they cut into 10 footers and skidded them all deeper into the woods no one wants pine, the cherry and oak were primo
Dude, thereās NOTHING impressive about Canklesā¦
For burning, the pine was always rejected except by a few. Bad creosote buildup. But if ya got a mill, pine is some straight wood usually. We hunk it to 12ā sections then drag / skid steer it onto a flatbed trailer. Oak and maple it depends, if they have a fireplace, most will want it left. No fireplace? We can remove the wood for a little more $$ (then mill it and make it disappear for more $$ lol)ā¦
We have some good saws between the Stihls and the Husquvarnas, usually the chipper guy is sharpening them while waiting for brush, so thereās always a freshly sharpened chain. The climber / rigger is a friggen monkey, and a super fair dude. We are constantly busting each others balls, and its all in good fun. Last week, one of the long timers who busts more balls than anybody else, got HIS busted, and he walked off the job (WTF? you just screwed the whole crew, not the boss, you idiot). Well, boss man realizes this makes more work for the rest of us, so he split the walkers daily pay between the rest of us for that day. Iāll take an extra $50 thank you!
Crane? or one of those spider lifts? Those things are crazy! How many days to remove 25 / how many were down? Removal by choice is easy, the trees are healthy generally, or, if they are dieing, they arenāt badly damaged. Storm tree removal aināt an easy task, thereās a LOT of weight in logs / uprooted root balls, so much to consider, and so many chances at a serious injuryā¦
Yeah spider lifts, the signature Giant Catabwa (spelling ?) was badly damaged, its 150 years old so its now a 75 foot bonsai, the massive trunk being cut and trucked out would have destroyed 300 feet of lawn so that will be a winter job when all is frozen, we have leech fields. Luckily the majority were in the property up the hill behind our home snapped in half so the course of action was to slice and use the skidder pincher things on tank tracks to take them out of the way. So they opened it all up so I can go up with my tractor and mow that meadow etc. and start bringing down the cut up logs to the log splitter. I have seen more of these high wind and tornado events, We are in upstate NY just a few miles south of the Adirondack Park boundary so its a definite change in our climate experience.
Yeah but youāre the one who disappeared with it for awhile. Never did find the panties and that goat walked weird for a few days and wouldnāt make eye contact with anyone.
We appreciate the shout, @FiveGar
These Landrace are literally direct from India, perfect for anyone that wants to start from scratch.
Weāre not even close to being āaloneā there cuzā¦ youāll get to the level you need soon, then come join us.
NO KINK SHAMING!!! OG is an inclusive space for a man & his goat.
That guy was dancing his happy dance when you said he could have that Ash. Itās some of the BEST wood carving stock you can find!
I have a portable sawmill that takes a 30" x 18ā log. And Iām a wood carver. Iād love to come across some nice ash of decent size.
