Not bright enough to do that yet unfortunately but definitely broke enough!
It’s definitely not ideal. I have a short window before sleep and a short window before I have to hit the road for work in the morning.
I’m a noob still, is it cheaper to run your lights at night?
Check with your electric companies webpage. Generally speaking electricity is sold to consumers on a demand scale. Demand for electric is higher at certain hours of the day so they charge more for those hours. Electric is in low demand during the hours when all the good people of the world are asleep. So it doesn’t cost as much. It’s like 50% cheaper for me.
Wow I didn’t know this at all! Definitely going to be trying it this grow round
Absolutly, I try to use off peak hours as much as possible. My lights are off from 7am to 7pm and it costs me so much less. They only run a couple peak hours during veg.
LOL pretty near how my power bill looked after my first grow this month… It certainly showed up in the mail impaired
If you want to save electricity you should replace all your bulbs in the house with LEDs.
It cost me $80 and completely offset the power use of my grow.
And yeah, nighttime and everything
I’ve started to do that, first it was compact fluorescents now I started with led.
I knew it was gonna work but I was amazed. Just my kitchen light was 480 watts! Now it’s like 50. My grow is about 400 watts.
LEDs rule for sure! I think it was all my fans during peak hours that did it!! (Thanks for teaching me about peak hours guys lol)
I was using a 600 mh/hps, I don’t check the electric bill, I wait to here from my wife how much the bill is, I just act surprised and blame the kids in the basement.
LETS GOOOOO.
@Foreigner I don’t know why I’m here complaining about my electric prices. Literally the only thing that’s ever on in this house outside of my grow, is the TV and a ceiling fan lol.
Buuuuut… Another way to look at it is I could be running triple the lights I am now. For the same price as if I was running 9am-9pm
I’m gonna have to commandeer some more sq footage in this house.
Lol. I’m usually to be found sitting on my couch in the dark with the lights at 1%
I’m a bit of a special case in that I must run during the day. My tent backs onto a window and I don’t trust it to be dark in full sun.
But I would run at night otherwise.
Im hoping to reclaim my basement, when my daughter moves out. My wife likes to live in the darkness. This was on the fridge one day, her and the kids messing with me.
I just wanna say, you know, people rip on cookies sometimes, but this sunset sherbet can get me surprisingly ripped.
how am i not a ’ regular ’ t2 status i post all the time in 4 or 5 threads and been here since 2017 lol i got ripped on tickets only got 1 @moderators sorry i know you peeps are busy @LemonadeJoe
@BeeLady noticed your amazon haul on the free seed thread, make sure to buffer your coco before planting in it. Also that light should be good for vegging your plants, but I don’t think it will put out enough power to flower a 4x4. I use a 240 watt to flower my 4x2 tent, the light you posted only pulls 100.
If you need more juice, check out Kingbrite LEDs on Alibaba, a lot of the lights on amazon are overpriced/underpowered.
Good luck with the garden!
I do wonder how long pollen would remain viable in that environment though. Unless you have something else in flower, you’d have several weeks of veg growth, higher humidity, bright lighting and warm temps. I’d imagine by the time new plants pop some pistils, that previous pollen that was “missed” would no longer be viable and merely dust…
Any experiences with “oops didn’t clean the tent well enough” visits from the holy ghost of cannabis and unknown pollenations?
