Put peanut butter in a live trap, the smell will attract it and then release it far from home in a secluded wooded area.

That will work perfectly.

Put a big fat loudspeaker in your attic and play lionā€™s roars and other animal sounds at intervals VERY LOUDLY.

Or get a guitarist to crank his shit through a full stack for half an hour, itā€™ll run like hell.

Oh man, the other pic in that article shows one determined squirrel, lol.

Shits fucking hilarious so long as the squirrel is fine

I had a ferret that would do that with licorice. Grab one end and hang there shaking itā€™s ass trying to pull it free. She was adorable and very determined, lol.

Often the local Animal Control will have live traps you can borrow from them.

Well this Squirrel has really pissed me off. This means war.
I got the squirrel trap.
If that doesnā€™t work.
I have a back up plan.

This things thrashing the shit out of things. Really disturbing me and my cats.
It is dark out right now and pissing rain.
Tomorrow, I will get my ladder, (probably rip my hernia surgery wound open lifting it)
And I will put the trap on the roof near the hole that it made.
I will have to run to the store an get some peanut butter, some peanuts, and maybe some other kinda nuts.

I donā€™t need this thing chewing electrical wires.

This is my back up plan.

I figure a shotgun or sks would be a bit over kill so this should do the job.
I donā€™t like to hurt or kill animals, but I donā€™t need my house burning down cause of the little bastard.

My old landscaping boss used snakeshot to clear the bats out of his attic. Kind of a weird dude, but he got results.

I admire your compassion. Iā€™m not a fan of capping an animal in cold blood.

Plants on the other hand, I want to burn every weed plant I see. Itā€™s like a compulsion really.

we have a problem with squirrels here as well. rats are always an issue and managed to sneak their way into our house but thatā€™s no longer an issue after laying out rat poisonā€¦ i hope. the squirrels werenā€™t an issue until they got into our attic. 1 or 2 snuck their way into our laundry room, one of the dumbass squirrels chewed itsā€™ way into a bucket of rat poison and died in there, lol. about 3-4 have been shot (bb gun) but occasionally weā€™ll hear one in there. the house isnā€™t worth replacing the roof. i had to spend my outdoor funds on completely replacing a big section of roof, still leaving the floors and plumbing/electrical with work needed done. i thought about selling my seeds to fund all that but i donā€™t think that would be allowed. anyway, fuck squirrels and rats.

Rats are the effing worst! And theyā€™re so hard to get rid of depending on where they decide to live!!! Burrowing underground or crawling inside of walls and ceilings!

Iā€™m not talking the cute ones that are bought at the pet storeā€¦the feral ones are usually UGLY and SCARY too!

I watched a feral one kill a chipmunk over territory at the old building I was in, it was awful! :pensive:

Donā€™t hurt yourself. Is there anyone who could help you out? Maybe you could use a long stick with a notch in it or something to carefully place the trap up there. Hopefully itā€™s not trying to build a nest and have babies up in the attic, if it hasnā€™t already.

yep. it took a while to get rid of them, but thankfully i havenā€™t seen one recently. iā€™m in chicago, (so big city + rats is common). they are pretty scary, years and years ago i shot a couple in trap cages and if they donā€™t die right away they violently jump all over the place while screaming.

@KanehB and @anonymous4289 I donā€™t have a rat problem, yet.
But I have seen them around here, I think they live under a neighbors place.
The ones I seen were as big as cats! I seen cats being chased from the rats!

Thats what I am afraid ofā€¦then its a bigger problem.
I might try to give my uncle a call an see if he can do the ladder work for me.

Iā€™d use my Ruger 22, but its a bit noisey. I donā€™t want any one calling the red and blue lights over here.
This new one I got is much quieter.

I had to deal with that when I was a kid in a place I lived inā€¦the garage was full of them.

I am surprised that the stray cats that live outside around here donā€™t kill the squirrels? They kill birds and small rats and miceā€¦ They donā€™t eat them though, they just kill them for fun.
