Yes! Heā€™s retiring and couldnā€™t resist keeping busy.
He ordered an all glass stem, instead of the plastic one inside. This was the prototype, you know.
Itā€™s easier for me to hold with my bad hand

If heā€™s got questionsā€¦ I got a farm

What printer did ya decide on??

ps. I think YOU might end up using it as much as he does, with your creativity level!

Thank you @Nagel420 !

I finally figured out the 1x sound that will always get my attention no matter what is going on and Iā€™m going to change my alarm sound to this REGARDLESS of how it may trigger the flight response in other around me when it goes off.

ā€¦actually, I love this more now that I think about how it might induce the flight response in those around me when it goes off.

Solid printerā€¦ I have 4 regular Ender 3ā€™s, and an ā€œextendedā€ 400x400 bed Ender 3ā€¦ To be bluntly honest, ALL it really needs is the glass bed upgrade. All the cable chains, fan shrouds, and other ā€œthingsā€ donā€™t do much for its capabilities. Most new printer owners print a ton of useless upgrades :frowning: I did myself, and learned. 3 of the 4 ā€œregularā€ enders are bone stock except for mainboard upgrades (when I fry a mainboard, I upgrade to a BigtreeTech Mini E3 V2.0) cost is close to stock, but silent drivers, and more powerful options ultimately. But ya donā€™t NEED that, only do it if ya fry the original, or REALLY want silence.

Ok iā€™m quite stoned as I am just rambling on hereā€¦ LOLā€¦ If hes got questions, I gots answers  lol

OoooÄ·! ā€¦I will show him all that, because I donā€™t understand a bit, other than youā€™re talking about a printerā€¦ lol
Thanks @Nagel420 for the advice

In laymens termsā€¦

Donā€™t let him talk you into upgrading the printer, it doesnt need it. BUT! If he asks for a second, or third printer, go for it! Youā€™ll benefit as well  ROFLMAO

I like your side of thingsā€¦ lol

I moved to New England as a teenager, and one of the biggest surprises at first was that apparently the volunteer volunteer fire departments run an air raid klaxon just like that every time thereā€™s a call.

Iā€™d like one that screws onto a quart sealer with a threaded fitting so you could drill a hole through lid of the sealer and fasten the pipe with a nut . Iā€™d think that would be a cool pipe you could sell it as a kit with the buyer supplying the sealer jar .

Thinking that might be more air tight with the sealer ring getting used?

@Nagel420 I am still using my thin factory bed on mine. Actually just had a part fail on mine a few days ago. Turns out its just the extruder idler bearing that locked upā€¦ Almost went to bed and did not catch it screwing up a 10 hour print, but I got it half way through the first layer lol. I just bought a cheap metal replacement extruder assembly to throw on there. It was working pretty well till that thing fully locked up heh.

So that glass bed is worth upgrading to hmm?

@bassman5420 yeah. Totally worth it, assuming youā€™ve got an idea how to level your bed. I dial in a bed once a month, printing almost daily. No adhesion promoters needed, and once cooled, the parts can slide right off. The metal extruder parts are a worthy upgrade too, I forgot Iā€™ve replaced the plastic ones with metal a while back. Mine have been trouble free thankfully (ya dont wanna tighten down that bearing screw too much).

You could print multi-materials possibly. Use TPU for a gasket ring, then do a filament change to PLA for the rigid stuff, they will adhere to each other. TPU is soft like a gasket. I use something similar to purge my airbrush.

We had that system in town before smart phones. Fireman had pagers in conjunction with the air raid sirens around town, only we called them fire whistlesā€¦ They tested the sirens at 6:30pm daily, that was time to come home. AND if you heard the siren at 6am on a snowy day, it meant no school

Nice. Ya man this bearing was solid till the other day, then it just locked up and was under extruding by about 70%+ lol. Ill get it fixed and dialed back in though. I will take a peak at some beds on amazon and see if there is something decent and cheap I can get my hands on. :+1:

Go to your local home depot or lowes and get a piece cut. You can even bring your flex bed to help compare. $2-$3 vs $20 for a textured bed which sucks anyway (the creality textured / borosilicate bed is nothing special). Regular plate glass, might be able to get 2-4 ā€œbuild surfacesā€ depending on the glass sizeā€¦

thingiverse has glass bed corners (print out of PETG or ABS, PLA will warp), or get ā€œPicture clipsā€ to hold the bed to the heated bed (I hate the binder clips, always catch em with the extruder).

Its honestly probably cheaper for me to get one online. I think its a 100-120 mile round trip for me to get to home depo or lowes and back home lol. I think I saw some under 15$ when I took a peak the other day. I will look into it though and see what around.

I have yet to print with anything other than PLA. I do have a roll of PETG from when I first got my printer years ago and bought some filament.

Thats right, youā€™re in the middle of nowhere.

Local hardware store / glass shop perhaps?

PETG is almost as easy as PLA, just a tad less squish when you level (leave more space between nozzle and bed), and USE THE PAINTERS TAPE!!!
