Welcome @OldSchoolNewKid . I will do a weigh once completed for you. Being for personal use I normally dont bother weighing. It should also be noted that I used autos, small pots and tried to LITFA as much as possible. Short of supercropping the main cola of one of them. Because of this I dont expect the yield to be anywhere near its potential.
Just a few quick pics. The Wedding Cheesecake continues to smell great and even the lowers seem to be doing well.
Wow these actually turned out pretty nice. Especially since it looks like the kits are going for like $350 USD. My friend actually asked recently if I had any spare equipment ( I don’t) but I may recommend something like this as it can get them started.
I agree, I would recommend these kits. If I had not been so intent on following the GH feed chart these plants would look much better but half way through flower it seemed to kick their back sides a bit. The damage was not so bad that they are not going to finish so I am pretty happy with it. I think that I have proved, at least to myself that 1: I can supercrop an auto successfully. 2: that this kit will get you from seed to harvest. 3: That if you follow the GH feed chart to the letter at some point it will likely bite you in the backside. In the end nobody should be expecting top of the line gear for the price but can still expect equipment that will get the job done. To me that feels like a win.
Oh for sure, and honestly for the price I think that’s all you can hope for.
I’m glad to hear you had success supercropping I have also had success super cropping autos, with topping them, with accidentally breaking branches off of them and they still kick out huge buds. I have always read that autos respond negatively to any of these things… but in practice, for me anyway, that has never really been the case.
As far as GH is concerned honestly I use a modified schedule that is low strength and I get burnt tips pretty much all of the time. It doesn’t bother me and I’m always plenty happy with the smoke. I think part of the reason I get burnt tips is I grow in Coco and while I do feed once a day, I think that’s not enough to keep the salt content down.
All in all it looks like the buds got big and dense so I’m sure it’ll be great smoke.
So just a couple of closer shots.
what are those fibers on photos 4 and 7?
LOL, was waiting for someone to ask. That’s the trichomes being touched by the microscope and when I lift it up that’s what you get. Gooey stuff.
That could explain why I had treads in my photos. I was afraid it was spider threads but never saw one.
I was going through the checklist of things you could see on a cannabis plant… And I never seen things like that I was worried it was… some kind of unknown. Wow, it’s got a really close focal distance!
Yeah, I tend to hold the thing against the bud to take a pic so the trichmes stick to it an do that when you pull it away. Does look like webs but it is defiantly just trichomes.
Ummm, bud syrup
looks amazing! so I’m curious about some of the finer details of your grow… what temp and humidity did you average with this setup? with them being autos, what light cycle did you go with?
Kept between 25 and 29 celcius, Inkbird controlling ac in room. Tried to keep RH below 50% and for the first time did a 24hr light schedule so no dark period at all.
So the Cheesecake has been taken down, dried for 8 days and is jarred. The Cheese is about ready to come down. All in all it went well with this kit. Other than some feeding issues from strictly following the GH feed chart but that had nothing to do with the equipment.
Ok ladies and gentlemen, the Cheese has been taken down. I will post some weights and a smoke report when all is ready but for now as far as I am concern the kit is a success.
Cool, man. Very nice result
Hey Doug, I am getting a ~2X2 tent to bred in. I was looking at the Mars and the SpiderFarms. The is a comment saying SpiderFarms IS Mars. Do you think there is much difference between them. Only $10 difference in price.
I think they are pretty similar. I would just go with the one you like better as I would bet both will do the job fine. Which models were you looking at?
