I was playing around in Seedfinder (looking at OG Kush) and made the error of clicking on their “dynamic family tree map” …It ran for 6 minutes…

I think that says a lot!! :vulcan_salute:

Holy crap. I guess it was on Seedfinder that I saw that disclaimer about load times, lol… Was that from the link you provided earlier about the story of OG? That family tree is off the hook.

YES… that’s exactly where it is…

I was rather shocked, I expected a few dozen, …not half of the known cannabis clade…

I would bet 90% don’t have the cut and are growing some s1 passed of as the original or the ghost cut as that has how it has always been.
The kush aka og kush came from Florida and og stands for original genetics. This has been discussed in depth by josh and Matt and many people can verify them as the original crew that blew it up in los Angela’s.
Time and time again the same theories pop up about it being the same cut growing different for different people but honestly I think most are just trying to explain why there cut dosent produce the quality og kush it should. People go in circles trying to figure it all out hoping to figure out which is the one you had or heard about (most likely the latter) and can’t find. The truth is very few people had the original cut, and these one offs have been around almost as long as the original and that is what most have experience with.
Ocean grown is some nonsense from the grass valley story. Og kush was grown indoors in silver lake and then the San Fernando valley.
All these people telling all these stories but do any of them have it , no just s1s or hybrids and a lot of claims.
I know the different monikers it was passed out as and have heard almost nobody mention them, names were changed to protect the innocent lol

Long story short some skater kids in los Angela’s had this plant from Florida there friend brought when he moved here. they also knew some glass blowers from Colorado who were living in los Angela’s at the time making some of the nicest pieces available. some of the actors and musicians who smoked at the time liked to own realy nice glass so it wasent long before they all linked up and people like cypress hill and cottonmouth kings started mentioning the kush. The rest is history and a lot of convoluted nonsense.

Thanks for sorting that out. Original Genetics, I like that. You could name a seed company that … just checked, somebody did… :vulcan_salute:
