they’re joking at the beginning when he grabs a handfull of fresh leaf, stuffs it in a baggy and says “that’s a good lid”

(a lid was roughly equivalent to how we use an eighth as a standard measurement for deals. but before pocket scales people would just fill the lid of the mason jar to measure it.)

That’s pretty cool :sunglasses:
I never knew that about the Mason jar lid.
I thought when someone said a lid that they meant an ounce.

Not necessarily. The High Times Drug Encyclopedia from the early 80’s says home grown leaf is about as potent as regular street weed. It advises you can keep the leaves from your veg plants for a steady supply.

I also remember R. Dope Connoisseur talking about smoking leaf from Hawaiian plants and raving about it.

These old timers, back in my day weed was so good we even smoked the leafs! I’m guessing the reason we lost the weed of yesteryear was everyone smoked all those good seeds haha :joy::joy:

That Acapulco gold doc was sooo frikken good. Lots of good info on there. I became really interested in the hemp brake tools they were using to process the plants for fiber.

So I went down the internet rabbit-hole about processing hemp fibers… and I came across this guys videos (there’s 4 of them), making a flax brake.

Insane woodworking skills, blacksmithing, etc.

but if you’re a nerd for tool building you will probably enjoy this!!

I remember a lid was supposed to be 4 fingers at least basically an ounce . Nobody weighed it out. So no eighths but instead dime bags nickel bags etc
