They make simple bottom watering pots for individual plants…can find them online or any box store they work well for veg and moms and the cost is negligible

The ac infinity ones were like 15 bucks a piece. I don’t think that’s overly expensive compared to the options readily available. Plus I had a 15% off code bringing it down to something like 12-13 a piece.

Yeah, it’s pretty expensive comparatively when buying multiples, but it’s your money, it was just a thought

How much are other options? If you have something comparable you care to share, it’s not too late to cancel the order :grinning:

There’s thousands online at all different sizes at any box store or amazon. Mainstay seems to be a walmart specific brand for a 11.5 inch pot is 6$ or smaller ones for less…or a roasting tray full of perlite seems to work the same as the AC infinity ones, if you are using fabric pots. I have used both ways

Sorry, been out of town camping.

Looks like everything’s going well in here!

Solid advice. I think two Earthbox JR would fit in that small tent. @Greasy 2 plants per container. Make sure they’re similarly vigorous & sized plants or you’ll have issues, as others have noted.

I want to reiterate what you said in your other reply above: the important thing with super small SIPs is you gotta flower as soon as you see new growth on whatever you transplant into them. And then be prepared to topdress immediately upon transplant, at flip, and at the end of week 3 to keep up with their feeder root needs, as others have noted.

Also, if you DIY small SIPs, don’t use cover crop cuz you won’t have enough space - go with a plastic, tight shower cap of some sort to keep the moisture in and encourage feeder roots up top. I like to use contractor bags, slightly bigger than you need to cover the space, then bungee cords to keep them tight.

Personally, I don’t think you should DIY your first SIPs. It’s sorta tough to get the wick size, location and length correct to provide proper moisture to your main soil, and I’d hate for you to get discouraged your first grow. I would go with two of the largest retail SIPs you can put in your space. Bigger soil volume is nearly always better.

I actually put the fill tubes all in the middle so they’re easier to get to, since I use a PVC elbow fill tube (3/4" fits perfectly in City Pickers tubes). Thanks to @CrunchBerries for the good idea.

Those $15 City Pickers (half off at a Lowes store that went out of biz nearby) are incredible. 4x fit perfectly in a 4x4 tent and I was able to go camping for 6 days in week 4 of flowering without the soil running dry…despite the 2gal rez going empty in 2-3 days depending on the plant. It’s actually less than 2gal, cuz the roots and wicks take up a little bit of that.

We had two lowes here and the idiots closed them both and all the rest are too far away to shop at.

They are $50 each at the TSC.

I just ordered two from lowes with free shipping @GrowingInThePines

Those are looking fantastic @nube! What day of flower are they on?

You may have convinced me to try the city pickers even though they will protrude out of the tent a half inch each side. It seems like my most practical SIP option in a 2x4 with the largest reservoir out. The EB jr’s arent cutting it for me in that shallow bit of soil . I was debating the Start Pickin bed to have a little room but it’s a one gallon reservoir which I prefer to avoid and get a larger reservoir.

Can you give me the link? I can’t find them.

Home Depot has them also

Has anyone figured out how to get 2 EB’s in a 2x4? Or is there a sip system I don’t know of that has a 2 gallon reservoir beside the city pickers? I’m trying to cram two boxes in a 2x4 tent with the largest reservoir possible.

I can only get one regular EB in my 2x4.

Would the dimensions of 2 root and veg fit?

They absolutely would. I have heavily considered those. My only hesitation is how deep the plant may need to be planted when I transplanted into it. I guess if need be , I could fill it up 3/4 of the way :man_shrugging:t2:.Push comes to shove I need to just try it out since no one else really has any feedback on it.

I would probably fill it 3/4 of the way any, so you can add topdressings. Pull the trigger!
