CrunchBerries’Probiotic SIP Thread

Soulmate #2 72 days. Skunky pine…it will be interesting to see what she cures into. Very frosty (not that it means anything) looks like it’s coated in gray plastic. The other phenos are more “normal” looking. One I harvested a couple weeks ago and was also very frosty but yielded 0. The structure of that one reminded me a lot of goji black raspberry w similar yield.

Soul #5…a more reasonable plant. More sweet smelling.

I hope I’m not hijacking too much soul 6. Not much smell (at least compared to other) but pretty purple-ish

What beautiful buds @Magrowers

Soul 8. This one has a large yield. It was the tallest growing. You can see where I snapped her on these two side branches. Smells more like pine cleaner. I actually really like this one but the clones didn’t take. I hope it turns out shitty so I don’t have to jump off a building.

This is soul 7. The s in soul and 7 stands for sucks. Shortest one. Shittiest buds. No unique smell. Worst yield.

Soul 3. Another monster but different structure. This one smells of pinesol. Probably slightly bigger yield the s2. This one is probably the winner if it cures good.

Sorry for the spam. I really just want to thank @CrunchBerries for this thread. I was heading to SIPs anyway but this thread really helped with a bunch of things. Grew hydro for years and this is much better. Grown organically with 27 gal totes 6 gal res. 2 plants per tote. 720w homemade strip led. Fort v compost, rice hulls, worm castings and a bit of bio char.

This is a great community on a great thread!

I saw no spam only some good wholesome Cannaporn! :call_me_hand:

That sounds like a great recipe for some big plants.

Love the 6 gal res!

It was a tight tent. I should have flipped a bit earlier. I am super impressed with the overall yield. Needed a ton of wire supporting branches. I actually hate buds that big. Mold magnets. But the structure on these were a bit more open even though they were dense. I don’t see any hints of potential issues.

Hey @CrunchBerries I saw you mention fungus on top bacteria in the bottom and a party in the middle. Is there anything else to ‘Probiotic’? Thanks

Dude! I’m really happy you updated! Those look fantastic!
Shit, I’m happy to do it! It was really very helpful to actually organize and write all this down. It’s nice to have a repository of everything I’ve found in relation to this method. Truthfully, I was tired of going over to the RIU SIP thread. Ha! I think we’ve got a great little subculture going and it seems to be growing.

Keep us updated on your next projects and enjoy this long weekend!

Morning @LivingBlackSoil That is a very over simplified explanation, but yes. It’s the relationship between the plant, fungus (streptomycin) and effective microorganisms. Basically you are stewarding their relationship, so they communicate, create networks and pathways of symbiosis. Throw in SIPs that mimic an aquifer and you have the most natural farming method I’ve come across. Here are some resources that give more in-depth explanations:

https://gro-kashi.com/?page_id=24

Taken from the Grokashi website:
PROBIOTIC FARMING

Probiotic farming requires no special chemicals, only essential minerals, quality compost and water. Mineral density, also a form of nutritional density, only tests high when plants have been grown naturally. Taking a lead from the organic and bio-dynamic wine industry, we wish to prove that tastier plants are a function of full spectrum soil life with total mineral density. The only way to grow fuller and denser plants with higher nutrition and flavor potency is with biology.

Hope this helps or at least gets you started~ Crunchy

I think something to look at and consider is the Grokashi recipe itself. It’s a multivitamin for your soilweb/plants. It has the beet juice who brings the streptomycin to break down organic material and make nutrients more available.

Two ingredients to highlight and ponder are the Youngevitty 2.0 BTT and the EM Super Cera powder.

Youngevitty 2.0 BTT

“There’s no easier way to provide your body with essential nutrients. This multi-vitamin mineral complex contains whole foods, trace minerals, antioxidants, prebiotics and probiotics, and amino acids. Plus, you get synergizing nutrients that help ensure maximum absorption in your body. And with an ORAC Score (antioxidant capacity) of 160,000, you get even more antioxidants to combat free radicals and support your overall health.“

EM Super Cera powder
https://agritondirect.com/shop/gardeners/em-super-cera-c/

“EM ceramics have antioxidant properties and also stimulate the regenerating activities taking place in the soil. EM Super Cera C ceramic powder is used for soil conditioning and has the power to retain fertilisers.”

@CrunchBerries Grokashi is not something I use, is this a product you swear by? If so, I wonder why build a soil no longer carries grokashi?

I do like Grokashi. I think the reason BAS doesn’t carry it any longer is b/c they recently shut down as a business. I don’t know all the in’s and out’s but I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere that he was going to start the business up again. I’m using the Growing Organic Kashi Blend that I got from BAS and I like it just fine. I can’t find an open source recipe though.

It seems I couldn’t find it anywhere . I do add em 1 into the reservoir and Bokashi on top so I hope that can help somewhat :joy:

Ive only used the kashi blend but I’ll agree and say it works fine

Just wanted to seek a suggestion on tent design with the earthboxes from you more tenured folks. Would it make sense to line them up this way If I’m being cognizant of max capacity for the plant? Or lay them horizontally/ sideways with some overlap? My logic was North to south I have the tubes for watering facing me, and the overfill spout are left and right of the tent and accessible.

Yea I don’t think it would really matter too much. The plant will grow where you train it, the roots will grow to fill the space. I would do whatever is easiest for you to do your watering and training :sunglasses:
