If you have room for 10 gal SIPs, you should go for it! I’m using 7.5gal totes, which is really 6 gallons of soil with a 1.5 gallon reservoir. I can fit two of these in my 2x2.5 tent but it’s really tight…
The more soil, the bigger the plant will get.
More soil is always better than less IMO
Back in the late 90’s I started using 18gal Rubbermaid SIP. Mainly for tomatoes to avoid catfacing and cracking from poor watering habits. Took a shot at casablanca Lilly in one, I used a 3" chocolate bean hulls mulch layer that turned solid green from trichoderma. Did the occasional top water to help leach in any goodies from the decomposition of the bean hulls, and I kidd you not, I had unopened flower buds as big as a banana and once they opened, bigger than my head. Incredibly fragrant, standing like 60 feet down the driveway and I could easily smell them.
All I used was FF Tiger Bloom and vermi AACT.

Glad you could join us! I don’t really think you could ever have too much soil. I don’t think it’s a sip question, but a living soil one. Are you going the ROLS route? There are micro sips using a cd stack case to as much as 40+ gals. I’m currently running 10 gals and love them. Plants are large enough for my needs and the best part is I can easily pick them up and out of the tent to inspect, as I can only really get at two sides of the tent easily. Hope that helps.

With the loss of Sour D from the current stable, that frees up a spot. I had chosen to run two Soul Mates, but now it looks like I’ll add another Beaver. I did find another new DB female last night that I like the structure on. 
Hmmm… I do have another LWv2 that looks killer…… Decisions, decisions! My M/F ratios were like 99% female and I’ve got too many plants. Culling the Sour D is kind of a relief.
