**Cured** Day 36 Flowering any advice on Powdery mildew?

Ladies seem to be coming along well. Installed a dehumidifier and humidity is down around 40%

Where was the humidity at originally?

Mid 50’s as high as 60%

I think your alright 45-55 %seems about right for sources I’v come across or read ! I’m not sure I would of done anything for a ten point drop but I’m not a professional grower by any means good luck on harvest ladies are looking great!

You should be A-OK!
I cannot see in your pics, I assume you have fan(s) keeping the air moving?

But do not let your guard down.
Be ever vigilant. Look at (cursory inspection, at least) your leaves every day.
Best of luck with your plants.
May you enjoy a nice harvest!:sunglasses:

The only sure way to not get PM is cleanliness, taking a shower and wearing clean clothes in the grow, filtering air on intake, growing from seed not imported clone, prayer, hope and cleanliness. As bad as it sounds here in the Pacific North West PM is always around so healthy plants are a must and cleaning is mandatory.

My best fight against pm and bugs is to have a healthy plant that is able to repel these things. If you feed chemicals your plant is depended on these chemicals soo much it cant fight for its self and needs you to spray more chemicals.

Sounds like big pharmaXD

Thanks shroomgod, it’s my first grow as well :sunglasses:

My girl and I shower before we go into the room if we have left the house or even been in the yard we try to be as clean as possible

I have a 10 inch 1000+ cfm maxfan exhausting at all times as well as 2, 20" high velocity fans running 24/7

I bought this thing at Walmart, just to show you how common it is and it said 3 in 1 or something like that and worked for fungicide, pesticide, something else I’m to high to remember.

How well did it work?

I didn’t have any issues after using the product; I just don’t recommend spraying it on any of the buds right before you harvest them.

People clean off when they go into their rooms? DamnXD i guess i should. But whats the point if im growing outdoor insideXD

I was told by a wise and experienced grower, always shower after leaving the grow store! The only people that shop at grow stores are…you guessed it…other growers that could be carrying a wide array of headaches for you and your garden, so always shower and change cloths after leaving the grow store

This generally is true, but PM spores are everywhere, I can say this you are not allowed to touch a clone at a nursery/dispensary, you want to touch it you have to buy it.

The issue is preventing PM spores from incubating, and they favor cool and humid conditions. I see alot of PM in veggie greenhouses in late summer here… the cool and humid conditions are PM nightmares, and this goes with Autoflower greenhouses with no ventilation. Lotus would like to claim that chemical feed is to blame for PM, its not… Both greenhouses are running only dirt with compost teas/fish water.

The only a few acceptable methods of controlling PM for me that does not use a fungicide. That leave little to no residue.

  1. Environmental control, prune for airflow, and keep RH and Temp within spec, No RH spikes, no temp dips…

  2. Fungus resistant cultivars, this more or less goes a bit into botrytis but those super dense nuggets and donkey dick colas are mold magnets, impressive?.. yes, Risky for mold, yes.
Some of the bubbas my friend avoids because of the lack of mold resistance.

  3. In a classic gardening situation, canna or not, you could use biologicals, I’m not recommending any specific method due to the wide range of products or homebrew cures out there but milk water in 1:10 ratio has antifungal effects, the exact reaction is a little much for me to explain here but it works, it has a following in vinoculture and veggie gardens. I’m a bit hesitant to spray this on developed flowers, you could cause other problems like sooty mildew.

  4. Chemical methods, oxidizing agents… H202, peroxide, or ozone in very dilute ammounts has great antifungal properties, I use very light ozone treatments to fight off botryis and it works for pm.

The point is to keep the spores from developing and cutting into the cells of the leaf, If you see PM its too late, its now in the plant. As with most antifungals you have to deploy prior to infection… So prevention is the most important part. Otherwise you will need to use a systemic fungicide, you could use a systemic fungicide, but at day 36 the risk of residue is too high.

The no temperture spikes is VERY important to me. A night time, day time thermostat should be bought at the same time as a timer, i think both are equally important.

Thank you @GrowerGoneWild! I think this should be put in FAQ for pm control.

I have had very few problems with PM or mold in my indoor gardens.

Outside is a whole different story.
I grew outdoors for many years in the NE US (latitude apx 40.7). PM and Bud blight were rampant. Some strains are much more susceptible to these afflictions than others.
I had many a strain crop entirely destroyed…grrrr!
No matter what I did, my susceptible in ground plants would succumb to botrytis and/or PM. Heartbreaking!
This is why I gravitated to using more containers outdoors. I built a “darkroom” in my garage using thick visqueen which I sealed as best I could. I put a dehumidifier and a fan in the room. I put the more susceptible plants in the dehumidified room every evening for twelve hours of darkness.
This minimized the dread PM and mold greatly.

Using the darkroom also enabled me to harvest much earlier than my in ground plants. I could begin flowering when I wanted to.

I relocated to SoFla, and find the climate much better for PM and mold.
Having virtually zero chance of frost is a big bonus as well.:sunglasses:

I might do that, I need to cite the references for it to be a legit source of info.
