Dangers of neem oil for humans

Ive recently went through surgery. The neem oil got into my eyes and I developed optical cellulitis in one of my eyes. I have to go back in a week to see if the need to repeat the surgery. Please wear goggles or face protection when spraying neem oil. A cat scan was the only way to tell exactly how bad it gets. The body reacts to the oil and treats it like an infection. Organic or not please heed my warning. This is the brand I used…quite ironic dont you think?

What are the other ingredients that aren’t neem? As I use straight cold pressed neem oil and get it in my eyes a couple times a month as I use a touch in my hair biweekly to keep it’s silky shine lol

I’m wondering if it’s something else in there that helped your eye along more than the neem

Good point friend I threw away the little paper that went with it stupidly enough. I bought it from Amazon. Here’s the back of the bottle.

Yikes, thanks for the heads up about neem oil. I hope the recovery goes well.

There was manufacturer some time ago that was caught adding permethrin to their neem product. Wasn’t listed on the active ingredients either.

Yea cuz it doesn’t tell you on the bottle what the other 30 is… that’s odd for a “safe” product lol

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Get well soon.
And this has prompted me to say that I only used Neem oil one time, about 18 years ago, and having found it to be utterly repulsive in smell, I never used again,
Godspeed.

Lots of plants provide deadly organic poisons.
Hemlock …

Gee @V4vendetta . Thanks for the reminder.

I have to spray my tall citrus trees with it (powdery mold) and all I have are safety glasses. I need to make sure I get some good goggles. Would probably be good to break out the respirator instead of just a cloth mask.

I was thinking about something a bit more “User Friendly” but with some much area, the Neem is a lot more “Wallet Friendly”

The best things are often learned the hard way. Were not all genius’s. Which is why I created this thread.
