Added a cup of dry amendment per pot. Topped with homemade bokashi. Mulched with chips I made from a soft wood shrub I cut down from my yard. Then covered with some extra tree skirts I had.
The mulch seems to be working. It looks like it’s wicking up like it should be. The platinum glue on the left are bouncing back faster than the grease monkey and skywalker.
Still going smooth. Switched them over to flower Monday. The grease monkey (front right) was decided it wanted to start to flower from being root bound so it’s prolly not got get much taller before she throw on flowers. I did happen to notice fungus gnats flying around. Not a lot but enough that I think I’m gonna hit the mulch with some JWA and JS at 1tsp a gallon. Then I’ll brew up a compost tea with the compost mix I have.
Day 13 and still going good. Clearly the issue was in the old soil. Leads me to go with I had root nematodes in the old soil. Aside from that I need to clean up the bottoms and maybe see if I can get some clones to root. Pics are side shot, plat glue, plat glue, skywalker, grease monkey btw.
Yes I know the grease monkey is the only one throwing basil leafs. But from my experience growing out multiple starfighters that’s a trait of the starfighter. Anytime they get root bound or stressed the freak and want to flower out
Put out a fresh box of rice for imo collection. My first two attempts the rice was too moist and I didn’t get them wash well enough. The first collection didn’t have the crazy myco growth I’m used too but still smelled like forest soil. So it got turned into IMO 2. The second collection did the same only it didn’t have the forest soil smell so it got dumped.
Th3 first collection:
The recent collection spot
So…that imo collection was in the end a fail lol. The rice was way too moist so when I added sugar to stabilize it became a soupy mess. This is now how an imo2 is supposed to look.
Put out another collection box but had tornado weather come thru so I pulled it early. This collection should be better than the first but still not ideal.
Day 24 of flower. Things are still going great. The top leafs of the platinum glue are starting to spot but none of the rest of the plant is. So it more than likely caused from being too close to the light. The pics are glue, glue, skywalker, grease monkey.
I need to feed them again too. 2 cups of my amendment mix for each pot and a light top watering to move it thru the soil.
What is this day 39…40. Anyways still chugging along. Had to cut out the skywalker cause she got pm like fucking all over. Turn the dehumidifier down to 35%. Keeps the tents between 40-50% humidity to keep it at bay. Surprisingly the other three don’t seem to have any pm on then which is a win and I’ll take it lol. Attached are pics of my 4x4 with the plat glues and grease monkey along with some softcore bud porn and a shot of the baby oaks with some plat glue and grease monkey clones.
Here’s some pics of the two royal kush females. They’re like a week in flower. I topped them the other day and threw them in the cloner. Hopefully they root, if not, I’ll make the lowers I cut off the bottom clones.
Haven’t posted in a bit but the plat glue and grease monkeys came down and are jarred. The grease monkey had a very grapey smell and taste which is weird. I think it might have been a miss labeled skywalker which would make more sense with the smell/flavor profile.
Here’s what the trimmed bud looks like for it
Also moved the thousand oaks females, chem 91 clone, and dip n stix x tahoe og into earthboxes in the 4x4.
Oaks in back, chem 91 front left, dip n stix front right
Also put the other two dip n stix tahoe crosses, skunk hero ak47 crosses in 1 gallon pots from solo cups.
bro those buds are looking really nice
Thanks. The top half of buds on the royal on the right are between golf balls and pool balls in size. i have two circ fans in there and have my dehumidifier set to 40%. Hopefully that keeps any PM or bud rot at bay.
A week later and things are still going good. Been spraying the veg plants with leaf tonic. The plants in the 4x4 are doing good. Took cuts from each of them. Hopefully I can get them to root.
Waiting on the royals in the 3x3 to finish up then I plan on moving the rest of the dip n stix and skunk hero crosses there to veg out for a bit and take cuts. Three of the five are going in there while I reveg the one non dewfy royal. One of the dip n stix and on of the skunk heros will go to my buddy to flower out.
Day 58 for the royals in the 3x3. Plan on cutting them this Saturday on day 63. So I’m still on track to enter it into the missouri craft cup. Dewfy is on the left and the last like four pics. Had to put in a small 800 sq ft dehumidifier in the tent to keep the vpd above 1. It’s sitting between 1.1 and 1.3 day/night.
Oh and on a side note. This is how I harvest pollen from the males I have outside. Pictured is the royal male. I just harvest a couple tops, removed all the leafs and hang them upside down in a mason jar. After most of the pollen sacs have opened and dumped I toss them and add a new branch. I plan to do this with both the royal kush and thousand oaks males. I let all the males play outside and picked the best one of each to keep around. The plan is to cross the royal male with the best oaks female and vice versa. That should make two sets of true F1 seeds. Those will be grown and selected outdoors next year to start making some plants that work well for my area.
