DWC cloner ok?

Looks like some good cloning advice here although if you had your root zone closer to upper 20° c then you probably woulda been good with the dome. My dome rates went from about 30%-99% just by adding a heating mat under the dome tray. Although i got a dwc setup for my seeds since they dont like as much humidity. Find what works best for ya and best of luck
Much love in the garden

Things are rapidly drawing to a close here in the clone machine.
They are all going to be cloned up no fails!

45 degree clone here. There’s a couple more rooted but the photos were crap.

And here’s a 90 degree one. I think there are three rooted per side with only 2 left. They all rooted the same, control, 90 and 45 degrees, on the same day even. Control roots grew faster, but anything could have happened to it. It’s a clone of the triploid plant. Those other control ones were taken like 4 days after the first batch and they aren’t rooted yet. I suspect they will take approximately the same time as all the other clones. I’m not sure this demo will change anyone’s mind on “how” to make a cutting, but please be aware it’s not integral to the cloning process and can be considered broscience.

Thanks for your effort beer3|nullxnull, watching that successful broken stem makes me wonder if that supports the theory that having more inner stem surface exposed (as in a 45 degrees cut) helps in the goal of rooting, I will try to peel the lower stem next time to see if it works … :sunglasses:

Give it a whirl, generally unless it kills the clone, it should work out! I made one of the 90 degree ones with lots of tiny slits in the outer layer… it’s in there randomly, we’ll see what happens!

Looks like you got this good now brotha good work with them. Cant wait too see you hit 100% rate. I find the cut angle doesnt make much difference the best is to lightly scrape the skin for about an inch without removing all the green just enough for exposure. In that skin layer is all the auxins and hormones needed to produce fast roots then just dip and plant with whatever hormone and medium you prefer. I just put my generic hormone dipped cuttings right into the net pots and pour hydroton around it to hold on place. As long as the bubbles are popping on the net pots your golden.

The clone made with 100 cuts in the base of it rooted exactly the same as all the rest of them. There was nothing special about the cuts that I could determine. All the clones are rooted now, including the control groups taken later, and have grown several centimeters. The way the cutting is made seems to have 0 significance to the cloning or survival.

still not having any results with that cloner. really weird. one clone of hundred got something like a root. and then only one root.

If there are no nutrients in the water, will there grow more than one small root? next time i will use light nutrients

Then think in my next try I will go up to 30 degree celsius water temperature. I have pretty low ambient temperatures now. In my grow room it gets around 5 degree celsius when lights off at the moment.

I use 18C water to root my clones. 22C air temps.

5C not good.

my 18 yrs. old 1gal. cheapo aero cloner never fails me, I’m using rainwater and have it set up on my kitchen counter under my cabinets using under cabinet LED lights…

btw, I think back in the old OG days someone had a thread that said let’s see your smallest cuttings that’s rooted, so I ended up rooting a cutting that was smaller than an exacto knife blade, it was about 1/2 inch…ever since then I’m hooked on just rooting small ass cuttings…this pictures were taken yesterday. They have been in the cloner for a week.
