Fully agree bro. Suppose energy companies have to make their money elsewhere with a loss of income from electric cars. Solar panels on roofs etc. But they’re still a bunch of shit dick wankers :no_mouth:

I read in yesterday’s paper that the power price increase is going to make the price of running an electric car more expensive than a petrol or diesel car.

Everyone is gonna be growing off grid before too long. Gonna be the only way bro. 12 hour treadmill sessions to keep the light running :rofl::rofl:

Yeah I’ve been looking at solar panels lately bro. My boss used to fit them before he started this company and still has a few connections so I may be able to get one cheap or even an old 2nd hand system.

Bit of cash n you can get an acre with a river in it n go hydro for your hydro :+1: much cheaper if you go hydro or wind

its an absolute killer Slater! I dont want to know how much I am paying now, but I have gone down to one tent to lower the AC costs of keeping the place cool, hopefully in winter I can get the other tent up and running again without the extra cooling costs. A serious number of people are going to suffer very badly as there is no end in sight to the constant quarterly price hikes…with the median average income across the country at 25k before tax, people will be spending 50%+ on energy

That would mean moving homes bro and that’s a definite no.
I’ve looked into wind turbines and the blades would need to be huge and winds as much as 40mph to drive them to give me 1kw of power and let’s not forget the initial cost to buy one.

Solar cost isnt to bad for me. It’s the batteries

Cant you sell direct back to the grid?

It used to be worth it back in the day but these days it’s only coppers you get back.
With this price hike I wonder if they will be giving more again???

Do they need replacing very often @Hydro921???

Bloody hope so but id assume you plug it into the grid and 1kwh that you make would negate 1kwh that you use. Reason im aiming at hydro or wind is cause its pennies to set up in comparison and they both run off an ac motor rather than expensive panels that i cant reproduce if i remember correctly.

What size and how many baateries does it take to run 500w for 12 hours ??? Sorry for stupid question : ) hahaha thinking I could put on trailer and sneakly charge them in work or elsewhere lol
Inspiration from this lol

I’ve absolutely no idea
I’d love nothing more than to be able to generate my own power in some way.
I know the batteries can take up a substantial amount if room

Fuck that’s a lot
I’ll settle for 100w for veg light 24/7 if that’s more doable
No smokin lol that’s not going to end well with our habits haha boooom : )

I got a very fancy 100w veg light and it’s pretty amazing. It costs 15 cents a day to run and will light up a 3x3 or flower a 2x2.

Love the idea of solar but its just not in the cards atm.
