now that you got the ph fixed that should help them explode get that vpd in check and should be ready to flip in a month or so !
I decided to use citric acid as Ph down. After 20 minutes of letting the water sit, it stays where I want it. Good stuff lol
never tried it lol but i do know once my ph is dialed in things always seem to go smoother haha
Nice looking grow you got!!!
In regards to the nasty smell it’s definitely the organics breaking down.
I’ve mixed my pro mix with my dry amendments and had to use it before it could sit…it STANK!!! In my tent for at least a week just like something was dying in there.
Shoutout to @vernal for the beans. Solid dude, solid genetics, and very fast shipping!
Just topped the girls. The one on the back right (#4) leaned over because the water uprooted it a tad bit but I pulled her back up with wire.
That’s it, next run I’m running coco in smaller pot and more plants. I have 2 big ass bails of coco and a big thing of cal mag to buffer with. And now I have the ph meter. Coco seems like it’s the way.
agreed. doubt ill go back to soil ever. coco and drippers or flood tables for me. unless i use 3 gal pots or bigger that only need to be watered once a day or every other
I’ve grown in soil for 7 years. Outside it was fine, never a problem. Indoors, I’m fucking swimming in problems.
Edit: I have 3.5 gallon pots out the wazoo. You think I could get a decent yield with coco in them? To my knowledge you don’t need as much medium to grow big plants in coco. I can fit 9 in my 3x3 for a SOG setup
you can grow trees in 1 gal coco pots lol. 3.5 would be enough to fill a 3x3 scrog. but yes 9 x 3.5 with maintained under canopy topped once each and veg 3 weeks would be a lb easy imo.
Fuuuck I shoulda went with coco in the first place. Oh well, too late to turn back now lol. I’ll finish this soil run and then start my journey into coco.
at least you get to see how these grow and stretch etc. will help you prepare for next run and decide best way to run them so there is that so all good
True. I’m definitely not looking at this as an end all be all run, this has always been sort of a “test” because I’ve never grown in a tent, with this light, with this soil, with this breeder or genetics or nutrients. Everything is brand new to me rn and I’m just seeing if I can get at least a decent amount of quality buds to puff on until my next harvest.
So I figured out a better way to PH my water organically. The citric acid wasn’t good enough. It broke down in the water too quickly causing extreme PH swings in my soil. Molasses, for now, is my new ph up. It holds the ph perfectly and it’s organic. I have read where it’s not preferable but I’ll see what the ph is at in a couple days to see if it falls again. Right now it’s at 6.0 and has been for 3 hours.
Sweet sounds like you on your way. Peace…
So I defoliate 2 leaves from each plant last night, second node from the top. I can already tell a difference in the lateral growth. I also watered them with 1tbsp of molasses per gallon and 5ml per gallon of cal-mag. They seem to have loved it lol.
I’m keeping the top two fan leaves on there for now so that the two nodes from topping can get going better. After they’re good on their own I’ll defoliate those leaves as well so that the nodes below them have good light to stretch into to even out the canopy a little bit. I’ll be setting up the trellis in 2-3 weeks
