First Octopot Grow!

I’m sure you’ll do fine man, you started out the right way. my first four or five tries were in 3 gallon cloth bags, all autos and all sucked and were stunted. With photos I’m getting more than 1 lb dried per plant in these octos.

Lol. I’m surprised my aeroweed auto is still alive at this point. Planted that in my aerogarden for grins back in late June before I had the tent up and running. Once I put it under a real light, she took off. Haha…

I spent months researching and piecing together the tent and stuff, just trying to give these plants the best shot possible at finishing.

1lb per plant?! Holy shit! Ha… 2 plants and im legally ‘done’ in MN. Until I can gift a bunch of course…

Drying and curing… is going to be a whole other can of worms!

my two biggest issues were nutrients and over-watering I just couldn’t get it right. Octos solved the watering issue and the nutrient schedule I follow solve that issue as well. Five very successful grows the same exact way it’s giving me at least one pound per plant indoors.

I got almost a pound off of the gorilla cookie Auto.

I do a pretty thorough wet trim of all the big leaves but I leave all the little bud leaves to keep the moisture up a little bit.

I go 7 to 10 days in about 60-60 temp for drying and into mason jars that I burp four or five times a day for the first couple weeks.

This time I dried them about 8 days and then into a Grove bags, sealed it up stuck in
a closet and that’s that.

Went with octos to reduce the chances I mess something up with watering and/or nutes as well. Lol

I’m starting with a 1 part nute (tps one) after reading about others having good results using it in octo grows the entire cycle. May consider changing to jacks closer to flower if needed.

My basement at the moment is around 68-73 degrees depending on how much the dehumidifier is running.

Im hoping by the time harvest is imminent, fall will be in full swing and will lower Temps closer to 60 in my basement. Then maintaining 60 rh will be the challenge for me to work on. I’m leaning towards grove bags as well

Any tips or anything I should be aware of as far as res issues I might run into?

Sounds good man. As far as tips for you I really haven’t run into any issues. I only use one nute from start to finish and I’ll use even less of it for this auto. I have found that you use much less newts with the octos.

this is what i feel like im stuck on right now as im getting closer to veg

ive been confused about the medium based feed schedules from the manufactures. for tps one, they have different charts for different mediums. octos kind of blur some lines in this area. are octos hydro, or soiless? an average of both?

i know to cut feed strengths in half to start to see how the plants respond, but each feed chart is different enough where im not sure how much i should be feeding at watering time.

i really appreciate the chance to pick your brain a bit too! sorry for all the questions man!

run jacks 20 20 20 @ 1 teaspoon per gallon all of veg and first three weeks of flower .
Run 10 30 20 weeks 4 and 5 @1 teaspoon per gallon , run 5 12 26 @ 1 teaspoon per gallon till harvest .No need to flush or ramp nutes up or down , octo will handle all that for you .
couldnt be easier

Use pro mix either hp or bx
Add perlite
This Medium has no nutritional value at all

So the jacks formula mentioned by jet is the best combination with this medium
And is proven to work

It’s best not to use any soil with fertilizer in the Octopot

Best wishes
Once you go Octopot you’ll never grow any other way

@Jetdro

I could handle that! Ha… thank you! Have read in different topics about the feed schedule you developed for the octos, but hadn’t located it yet.

@Papalag

I ended up going with sunshine mix #4. In the octo manual they say its ready to go out of the bag, and just wanted to get started. Lol…

Would Jetdros schedule work for ss #4?

Next grow, I plan on switching to promix with extra perlite.

Sry @blkbelt65 , not trying to hijack your thread! :grimacing:

Anytime man happy to help that’s what we’re all here for.

And yeah, just that one nutrient nothing else. The soil I use is the same soil I’ve been using for 2 years it’s Happy frog and I just shake out the roots add a little perlite and reuse. This is my 9th or 10th grow with that same soil… no difference from new.
