I haven’t tried tps one, but the tps component system is definitely made for running in an amended soil like fox farms ocean forest or similar, regardless what they say about coco/peat or hydro.

I struggled to run a single auto with tps component system then started my last photo run with it too. I had so many continuous issues with unhappy plants that I switched to jacks mid run—which was the best move for my plants. They completely turned around within days. When I get my octopots set up in the next couple weeks, they’re getting jacks too.

I’m considering running your guy’s octo jacks regimen in the gauntlet next year.

Already using promix with jacks, so the winning combo for me is the addition of octopots.

I’m just getting rolling on my 1st grow ever, but something seemed off about the tps one batch I have. I left a little water out after the first feeding, with like a ¼ dose of feed, and it was super funky about 24 hours later. Made me wonder what was going on in my octo reservoirs.

@Papalag and @Jetdro were veeeery convincing in a different thread.

in the process of changing over to Jacks over the next week.

A couple things I noticed during my use of tps nutes: 1) they’re not reservoir pH stable
2) they use a mix of organic & synthetic sources, which tends to get funky after a day or so

I’m not saying they’re no good, but they’re not the solution for every growing method they claim to be. Jacks is much better from a reliability standpoint, which is why so many people swear by it.

am i the only one who thought measuring jacks in tsp was a nightmare. weighing it is much easier for me. im trying envy hydro special now which is much cheaper then jacks when buying the small bags.

Just over 3 weeks now… Lite feeding starts now.

I always weigh dry nutes.

Do you wait until there are good roots outside the plug?

Yes, when I see a few poking out just a bit she goes in the dirt.

@Joker , whats even easier is making a batch of liquid concentrate don’t even need to worry about knowing strength , then just add to main Rez using ec as guide
: )

eg , 200ppm cal mag , then add 1/1/1 type till Rez hits 400 ppm that another 200 ppm of 1/1/1
Ph then go : )

I use bottles of water bought at supermarket with the pull top , after I drink them I reuse as concentrate nute bottles , nice controlled squirts , less chance of wooops too much ( again using ppm500 / ec meter )

I use the same approach with Coco nutes and calmag separately as ppm inputs

One week later from pic above and she has really taken off. This wedding cake is growing just like the gorilla cookies Auto… showing more distance between Bud sites.
