First Time (growing legal that is)!

Holy moly! Look at that! Worth growing those two just to get to see something that tall. How’s the view of the sky through those leaves😁?

Sweet, that “scissor hash” is some good stuff and the “growers treat”. I like to do it with the under glass method, the smoke is so pure and IMHO it is more potent that way.
I wear latex gloves and put them in the freezer inside out, after they have frozen it makes it much easier to clean the “goo” off and save it rather then picking it off your bare fingers. “Just a thought, not a sermon” to keep in mind.

Today was my crew’s switched Holiday for Monday when they decided to just work through it after the weekend. So another pretty quiet day.

Good news! The next box of 100 glass vials arrived (intact too!), so I’ve got some work cut out for me this week. Got an early start on (Mac1 x AVC) x (Sherbanger x Purple Punch) beans and some Powie Poisons. Loooong way to go!

Soulmate has definitely taken the “Fastest to Gum Up the Scissors” award! I can get about 2 minutes of trimming out of a pair before I have to grab another out of the alcohol! Plants did the “Tlander Weirdness” that seems to come up now and again over here. Strains suddenly pop with very different characteristics than ‘normal’, usually with a lot of stretch between nodes and lots of single or triple-bladed leaves. But the smell of these caught my attention early on. Occasionally, a small budlet would get ‘dryrot’ and when I pinched it out the smell was just knockout! Finally started to roll doobies of it this last few days and I’m loving it! Not the most attractive-looking buds, but you can bet they’ll be gone pretty fast! Think I have another half dozen in the E&F tables in 1 gallon airpots. Thank God! (and @BobbyBudz & @Tuned or @Wizdom , I think?) :upside_down_face:

Speaking of ‘weirdness’! These 2 plants were from seed @Budderton and as they grew up it bacame apparent that the labels had to be wrong! They’re marked as (LA Affie #11 x AHP), but have never ‘fit the bill’! Decided to snap a couple shots of 'em this morning…

My buddy’s widow messaged me asking if I could swing by and have a look at his plants. After a week of chaos in the household, they were suffering and she didn’t know if it was time to cut 'em or wait. I got there to find they’d moved 8-9 plants down from the rooftop gardens (months ago) to a new porch at house level. Everything still looks like it can handle a couple more weeks if the rains hold off. I was stoked to see he managed to grow some amazing colas!

And there was one purple pheno labeled “Gold Mix” that is starting to foxtail.

Okay, I better get back on the seeds and the trimmin’! Have a great one!

Progress!

OMG!!! Just had a brainstorm! These little glass vials and their original box & foam make it really easy to organize…was just wishing I could do the same with all the pucked-uP beans too. Then it hit me - Those Thai bar games with the discs… :joy:

A bit ‘thick’ to store very many, but you can read the labels easily! Just gotta see if my pucks fit!

(There’s the beginnings of an idea here @Bobgrows :joy: needs ‘removable’ legs, thinner profile and lock-in-place cap to avoid spillage!) …or maybe I’m just stoned!

We couldn’t make one that large, just the size of our plate.

Well, sometimes it’s faster to just look through all the crap you have been collecting for years! Managed to sort out a couple shelves worth of refrigerator space previously taken up by baggies & boxes (though there’s still quite a few of those left!). Still, a big improvement!

Kind of enjoying not being uP to my eyeballs in plants for a change! Managed to de-whitefly 8 or 9 young plants in 3-gallon pots in the E&F tables and shift 'em up to the newly cleaned upper greenhouse. But first we tore out the existing drip irrigation system in there that’s been changed up so many times it looks like a bowl of spaghetti! Hauled out the remasining 30 gallon bags of soil mix for reammending. Time to start anew! Still pretty empty in there…but that never lasts long!

E&F tables now have enough room to seperate the 1-gallon airpot plants so I can spot males as they declare, females will get up-potted and then move to the upper greenhouse. Pulled a few more beans off the Old Silver Thai plant and found 4-6 on the Peshawar Joe x Tirah Valley. plant. Chopped the seeded (Mac1 x AVC) x Orange Soda @misterbee and it looks loaded (for a smallish plant). Tomorrow I’ll take down the only female of six Orange Soda that survived (3 males and 2 die-off’s) and collect the f1’s.

Other than that, it was trim jail again…slowly, slowly getting there. Despite their looks, I’m still just loving smoking the Soulmates! Can see I need to order a bunch more glass jars again soon! Okay, that’s it for today’s report! See what tomorrow brings.

Another nice cymbidium orchid going off!

A couple years back I found these plastic branch benders on some wholesale website deal. I bought a few packs of various sizes and tried them out. The plastic has NO UV resistance so exposed to full sun they don’t last very long. On the other hand, they worked GREAT! I like 'em much better than the ‘adjustable’ ones. Only problem is I can’t ever find 'em again! Have tried an image-search and paged through hundreds of scrolling pages of ‘branch benders’ to no avail. If ANYONE spots them anywhere, please contact me!!!

Back to trim jail…

Thanks bro! Those look ‘interesting’! I’ve tried so many different variations and found one of the most important parts is; how easily does it come ‘off’ the plant when it’s time? Usually a lot of them require you bend the branch even just a little bit lower…often resulting in a ‘snap’! The 2-piece ones work better as you just pull them apart…but that can be tough sometimes. I shot a couple more pics to see if I can’t image search them better…

The White Gingers are smelling delicious!

Somebody sent me these Strawberry Diesel x Space Dude’s but I didn’t get the name to the tags. I’m really liking the looks of them and wish I could thank whoever sent them! Ring any bells anybody?

@MissinBissin here’s what remains… Looks like 5 Roof '95, 3 Acapulco Gold and 1 Panama Red.

Some of the spaced out 1 gallons in the ebb & flow tables.

And I moved 6 more of the one gallon airpots to 3 gallons, after moving a few more 3-gallons to the upper greenhouse (and forgetting to take a picture!). Think it was 4 Soulmates and 2 Baja Blasts. I was amazed to see that the 1 gallon airpots that were transplanted from Solo’s 9 days ago were already pushing roots out the sides of the media! Perfect timing - I don’t want them to slow down from getting rootbound…but 9 days from a Solo??? Cool!

More trimming today, man there were a lot of those faux Mac1 x AVC! And I keep trying to leave a Soulmate to trim each day so I can poach a few nugs to burn! Pulled another 6 males of various strains today, bummer! Think that makes about 16 out of 50…so far. Okay, I may have to have a run through my newly sorted seeds and see if anybody jumps out at me! Really enjoying having less work but in the back of my head I keep thinking having so much to do is probably responsible for me still being alive!

I have that same strain. I got it from @JohnnyPotseed . I haven’t popped any yet but it looks like I should! Nice looking plants
It’s listed in his Hall of genetics thread along with the contributors of the genetics.
Could be one of them that sent to you?

I thought the Tookay lizard might have the upper hand as he had a good grip on the snake’s neck… that snake is a Chrysopelea or flying snake. It has odd muscles and skeletal structure that allows it to flatten it’s body out to allow it to glide from tree-to-tree!

…but I guess the snake has some pretty good compression skills.

I wanna try to get a pic of the snake with it’s belly full! Sure won’t be moving anywhere fast!

(Late edit) Faster than I thought!

Mail came through! @Tuned Thank you buddy! Think that’s at least the third overseas trip that card has made now! :joy:
