First Time (growing legal that is)!

Yo @MissinBissin bro! I meant that I pinched the ‘tips’ off and then spread the 2 new leaders sideways, then pinched again and again spread 'em sideways. Monsoon’s coming again and I can only have a couple x-mas trees in the center of the arch. Everything else needs to be shorter stature with more spread-out colas to cut down on mold issues.

The first ‘legal’ year I did some complex HST on almost everything and they were amazingly w-i-d-e plants! :joy: unfortunately it didn’t help with the mold issues that time!

It’s one of those - ‘the more you do the more you know’ things…Every season I figure out some new little method change that seems to make a difference. That first legal year it was PE pipe rings held horizontally on 3 legs and all the tips got pushed under it to keep 'em spreading. Just a ring of PE pipe and 3 3-way connectors with the 3rd pointing down, then rebars into those 3 way connectors and into the ground. (See front of ring in second picture below).

(see earlier posts in the thread, probably Oct, 2022) This time I found this new wire so it’s a lot of wired/pegged down branches. (they pull out of the soil mix too easily though, with the big fans.

Just start trying a few plants here and there, you’ll come up with your own favorite systems for sure! Thanks for the Red’s! I gotta get my Sativa game up to par…just sucked this last round!

Ok I’ve Got you this time T… I do understand. The Tip does come off !!

Thanks and I love the Circle format… they’re weeds and will do as told !!

Cheers & Thanks @Tlander

Yeah, the key is making more and more branches and keeping them horizontal for as long as possible to make a Sea of Green from all the nodes without the netting! Forgot to add - you have to do a LOT of defoliating to open em up for ventilation and it gets really ‘crowded’!

More of the same, but with a torrential downpour at sunset! The Thai Meteorology Department just sent a message out saying there’s a Severe Rainstorm Warning in effect until 5 am (it’s 8pm now).

Today’s pics look a lot like the last post! Though quite a few of the plants were changed out as we had another 4 males declare today. Did a bit more HST/LST and added more drippers.

A couple new beans have popped and I put in 15 of the Soulmates to soak last night. I was pleasantly surprised find we’ve filled 3x 3-liter glass jars with Soulmate in addition to the one I gave away the other day…and we’re still trimmin’!

Had to take down one of the Peshawar Joe’s today as there were only leafless 4 m. tall branches left! My Sativa style needs a lot of work! Don’t know if my mix is too ‘hot’ for them or if they ran out after so long but only one or two look like they’ll give us much in return? E&F tables are finally starting to thin out a bit with all the moves to the upper greenhouse (and the males pulled).

Don’t think I had it together to report back that last Friday on my around-the-island tour to visit Immigration my newly ‘repaired’ brakes went out at the farthest point of the island from home (and from my mechanic!). Managed to waste an entire day and stressed out to the max (something I really don’t need to be doing at this point in Life!) and so never made it to the PO. I have a pretty massive stack of cards that I’ll be taking to the PO on the way to the Doc’s tomorrow. Sorry for the delay all!

Alohahaha!

Sorry to hear about the stressful brake situation.
Hope you have it sorted, Its always something isn’t it…

Happy growing bro!

Yo guys! So far, anyway we’re lucking out…big parts of the country are underwater right now, or landsliding away! We’re getting the occasional big dump and seeing some massive cloud formations passing to the South of us but so far, so good!

I finally found a supplier for those bender clips I was searching for…

E&F numbers are dropping…both from transplants to 3 gallon and a ton of males! I can’t ever remember quite this many.

Still haven’t figured out who it was that sent me the Strawberry Diesel x Space Dude, but I’m very grateful! We got 2 females and 2 males so there will be a little bit of seed to try again.

@Tuned sent me some more beans to try out over here…these are the Malawi from ACE, a few Sherbanger x P. Punch from @Drsunshinestrains and an ‘odds & ends’ from @BobbyBudz (Saint’s Crossing) and one of @THCeed 's Soulmates (first and only one to germinate for me…have loved the ones Bobby sent me and hoping this one’s a female!

Put in a bit more time in trim jail, slowly but surely! Still bendin’ wires for the HST/LST work and I’ve almost used up that entire hoop of stainless steel wire already! We’re hoping for a couple clear days to change out the greenhouse roofing plastic in plenty of time for our monsoon season.

Okay, maybe I can kick out one more plant before bed! Have a great day everybody!

Whoops, gettin’ late! Nice bromliad flower going off today!

And I scored this nice red variegated banana a while back and am happy to find 5 sucker plants growing off of it now!

Chocolate Sapote’s still cranking.

These were the latest airlayers off the Lemon trees. Some of them look better than the original parents!

And I spotted that one of my rare palms (seed collected in Singapore in 2006!) had made seed itself so…

I might have gone a little ‘overboard’!

Well, alright…overboard!

And those Solo’s are just from the first of 3 trays of seedlings! :upside_down_face:

More Mexican Oregano cups comin’ along…

Meanwhile, back at the upper greenhouse

Been looking at 3 of the 4 Sherbanger x Purple Punch that I didn’t pinch and figured they’d enjoy some room to move. A lot of other things in 3 gallon pots should be fine, but I’d like to see what these do with some room.

Trimmed up a couple more plants, including the Swazi Ruz today. Of all the pure Sativa’s I think this is the best one we’ve grown yet. Not much weight to it but nice to have something completely different. Yanked another male or two, transplanted a few more one gallon pots to three’s, got a bit more wiring done (got a new roll of plastic-coated steel wire) and the guys repaired the small greenhouse that snapped a few PVC pipes when one of the storm fronts blew through! Don’t feel like it was an extremely productive day, but better than the last few.

Health has been an issue the last month or so (well, more so anyway) and while I’m not in much pain, my energy levels are so low I feel like I’m doing 1/10th of what I used to do in a day just a year or two ago. Thinking I’m about due for another RSO break to see if I can assess how much of the energy loss is because of it. Short term memory bounced back pretty well last time I took a break, but it’s been slipping even with the highly reduced rate of the last 3 months. Getting old sucks sometimes!

Oh well, nothin’ to do about it tonight…except go pick out some more beans to soak! Have a great day!

Yo Bro!

The greenhouse is filling up again! hahaha nice!
Love seeing all the cool plants you have!

That banana plant looks awesome.
Those palms too…
The sapotes are fruits right?

Your oregano is going off! The ones you sent I got quite a few to root.
A few died off but a few are going pretty strong.
Do they like the shade? I noticed the ones closer to more sun were struggling with the heat.

Gonna be cool to see how big the sherbangers get with big shoes.
Can’t wait for the show.

You my friend are killing it!

Hope the break gives you some clarity and a boost of that energy that is in you.

stay dy down there Bro!

Cheers!

Thanks for the pictures of paradise :sun_with_face:

I also have a banana plant growing. Its a fert and water hog, and puts out a new leaf every few days. It will get a surprise when the cold weather comes.

Well, I don’t want to rub salt in the wound but, YAHOOO! Just got a call from yet another grower going out of business. Told me to bring my truck and workers! Said it’s down to the end - 2 days and they have to empty out an encampment of 6 houses they’ve been growing in for the last years. Most everything is gone but leftovers are often tasty! We’ll see!

Well, I sure can’t complain…especially since it was free! Scored a nice 4’x8’ Ebb & Flow tray tabletop, 36 square four-gallon pots, a ton of unused black fabric grow bags in 2, 3 & 4 gallon sizes, a carton of yoyo’s, some decent 2"x4"s and a few misc things they still had laying around.

The Koh Tao boyz Strange Fruit x Joker’s Candy is starting to get pretty sticky!

We had some HUGE windstorms this afternoon, knocked over about half of the 3-4 m. lemon trees in their 10 gallon airpots. I was in one of the greenhouses and just sat tight while the gusts basically inverted the arches & plastic! Lost a bunch of trees higher up on the mountain, but luckily I’m mostly tucked in down at the base. Starting to get caught up on the drying tent, got a few more females into 3 gallon pots and tucked some more plugs into Solo’s. And of course, a few more beans into soaks!

Hoping Lemonade Joe recovers from his Covid match soon…and then finds a work-around for the individual-only picture uploads!

Nice score @Tlander !

You are gonna be killing it on that table in no time…

Good you didn’t get any more damage than you did.
Up north they got hammered with floods, saw some sad footage of it.
Its been cool and nice here, hopefully that relates to a real cold season this year.

I’m looking forward to the picture show starting again!
maybe it will get fixed soon.

Cheers bro!

Got late quick…gotta be more pics and less words tonight!

An amazingly delicious Avo weighing in at1.5 kilos!

On to the plants… a couple Sherbanger’s I just couldn’t leave in 3-gallon pots!

Some for the plant bondage groupies…

More upper greenhouse fill-ins…

Back at the E&F tables

Still got beans to pop in plugs tonight! Have a great weekend!

Man, OG’ers are the BEST!! I’ve had X-mas in September!
And I haven’t figured it out, but 90% of my bean cards get delivered on Sundays when the postal service is officially closed!

@Boozer Bro! They’ve landed! And what a cool assortment you’ve sent me! I hope I can do them justice! I’ll be posting! :call_me_hand:

Whaaaaahoooo! Thanks @BobbyBudz one of ‘em finally landed again! I’ve never grown the Powie Pinks but have been itchin’ to try 'em! Won’t be long! And the Powie Wowie are my other Big Time favorites!

Thank you @OnePassionateGrower !!! I take it you might have been my “Mystery Donor” of the Strawberry Diesel x Space Dude???
Now, do you have any memory of what’s in the unmarked puck? Nothing written on either side.

I rolled a (couple) fatties of my new favorite Soulmate and headed down to the gardens to do some transplanting into all those new bags & buckets this morning! Had an absolute blast! That high is spectacular for getting things done and seeing insights about whatever you’re doing, with a fair amount of chuckling! Even managed to just laugh it off when I returned this evening and thought, “The truck sure looks like its listing heavily”…yep, flat rear tire! Oh well, that’s a “Monday” kind of thing! 555!

Saw the largest ever (for me) Paradise tree snake (like the one in the battle with the Tookay lizard). I think I only saw about half of him as he raced away from me, but there was over a meter of that! Played the old stoner game with a fluttering butterfly and had him/her land on my finger three times! My kinda weed! Thanks again @BobbyBudz (and @THCeed , but yours are still comin’ along!).

Here’s some of the new pots/bags in action…

Sorry to say the Colombian Gold x Cobra Lips @Budderton are gonna be a write-off this season. :joy: While they still look great from one side, might see if a buddy that makes hash want 'em? I’ve almost got the drying tent empty (except for the seeds!) and there’s just 3 more big plants in the upper greenhouse to go, probably this week.

Unfortunately, the ‘inside’ aren’t so pretty. Think it was that first big rain about a month ago. They came back strong and I wish I had just stripped 'em when it happened.

Okay, I gotta go stare at all these pucks and see who talks to me first!

Ah, that sucks about the botrytis TL! Hopefully some of the Malawi Gold crosses that are in transit make it and offer better resistance to the bud rot. Have you started your break from tge RSO? If so, how’s it going?
