First Time (growing legal that is)!

Oh, I think you’re probably right now that you mention that and I see what the genetics of your cross are. The peshawar over there was looking real strange to me too…and its clearly revegging. With the day length to being so similar between summer and winter over there they kind of take their time going into flower and then take their time coming out of it

Yo @Upstate ! No, I haven’t had one that smelled of BB yet! I’ also feeling that the current BB line has spent so much time ‘indoors’ that it doesn’t respond well to ‘outdoor’ grows? Or I just suck at growing it! These were 2 leftover seeds from the Sea of Green debacle that I just thought, “Why not?”! These two plants look to be the best BB buds yet, but I’m still not real impressed. Anybody else have ‘good’ luck w/ BB outdoor?

And YES, I concur with some strains foxtailing out with the daylight changes here now. It’s interesting to see that some strains are acting more like autoflowers and just finishing up fine while others have gone wild w/foxtails!

After years of neglect, (and without any change in that!) one of the Malee bushes just set 50 flowers this week! I’ve known it by the Thai name for so long now I can’t even remember the common name for this Jasmine, but the fragrance is otherworldly!

I lost a day somewhere? I was thinking it was already Saturday and with the crew gone Sunday and Monday being a public holiday, I wanted to cut a bunch of plants before any budrot hit. But by this morning, after an all-night rain, both the Moby Dick’s had already started to sucumb! Chopped! By late afternoon we decided to take down the Corey Heime x Blue Kush, A Powie Poison, the tall Durban Venom and ??? something else??? All hangin’ now in the drying tent.

We’ve had a ton of males declare this week, probably 8 out of 10 Baja Blasts (Saved the two most robust males), 8-10 Powie Poisons (used best 1 on 1 female), 3-4 faux Mac1 x AVC, a couple Peshawars and a few odd’s & ends. That’s certainly opened up some more room in the Lemon Grove! And with 5 plants down in the upper greenhouse tomorrow is re-shuffle day in there…get the thicker ones closer to the fan.

We’ve been bagging up Palms and Cycads (and will be for quite a while yet!) to prep another batch for moving on to new homes! Noticed a few of the earliest ones have decided to express their gratitude! We have a nasty little purple-winged moth that scouts the cycads out and immediately lays eggs on the emerging fronds…they hatch in a day and devour the leaves while they’re still tender. Means we have to spray em daily for the first week of emergence and then the leaves are too tough for the caterpillars. It’s only once or twice a year and just a week, but boy is it worth it to see healthy fronds emerge!

Okay, another big Saturday push before the long weekend so gonna cut out early! Thanks again to all the kind donors, let me know if I’ve missed posting something of your kids please! :joy:

Alohahaha!

This one’s really starting to go off now! @slain

Managed to move a lot of plants around in the upper greenhouse after taking out 5 for harvest last night. The extra space was needed just to move stuff around, but it’ll be full again before the weekend is done! Think I have all the farthest along budder’s down near the fan. Gonna transplant a bunch from 3 gallon square pots in the E&F into 15 gallon bags this afternoon…if it stays cool & overcast enough!

Popped a couple ‘replacement’ plants into the old Moby Dick 15 gal bags. And found another Peshawar Joe from @Upstate in a 3-gallon, so she’s now in a 15-gallon bag beside her big sisters! 3 more Baja Blast males chopped, and 3 ‘other’ males pulled! I think between the day-length changes and my very heavy pinching, I’m risking flips/hermies. I was worried about the number of plants t deal with but looks like it’ll all work out! :upside_down_face:

Okay, back to it! Have a great weekend!

That looks like a cultivar called ‘expo gold’. It’s the most prolifical flowering cultivar. Did you get them from seed or as cuttings? Amazing tree, and it grows in full rainforest in its native habitat.

Yobro! I think I bought it (and a bunch of others) as a small sapling at a wholesaler in Nakhon Nayok when I was teaching at the Royal Military Academy 10 or 15 years ago! I had to fly up pretty frequently and made a deal that I got a hour in the main plant market just nearby on the way home each trip! These have been neglected for years now but still put on a show with no care! I found dried fruits on the yellow one from last bloom…still had viable-looking seed inside but I’ll wait for the orange ones to make a fresh batch for yours…or maybe both?

The Malee bush is pickin’ uP steam too! Plucked one of these and stuck it behind my ear so I could whiff that scent all day! Heavenly!!!

A couple of the Colombian Gold x Cobra Lips @Budderton The second one has been in flower for 3.5 weeks now. (One of the rare ones I remembered to tag w.first-flower dates!)

Here are a couple of the Peshawar Joes @Upstate …first one is a transplant today from a 3-gallon pot.

The next ones show the Peshawar Joes & the cage tops that are just above 2 m. Pretty hard to see, but they are well over the tops of the cages now!

Here’s the Male hideaway…I’m having some electrical wiring work done along the driveway, so decided it’d be for the best to move these guys out of the way. Fortunately I’ve had a male of everything I want to work with in either a 3-gallon pot or a smaller airpot so (almost) all the 15 gallon bag males get the chop!

I’ve got a whole bunch of faux Mac1 x Ashava Valley Cheese from @Wizdom and between his fresh seed (1 pack made it!) and my F1’s I figured there were enough to try some more Bro Science! So sticking 2 plants in a 3-gallon pot. Everybody has been getting pinched hard…hoping I don’t cause hermie traits to emerge! It’s only a few of them and some may be males.

Laid out loads of bags of soil mix all around the place so I don’t have to haul it over the long weekend while everybody else is off. Looking forward to burning a few and playing in the garden myself! I found a half-joint on the rim of the E&F table and decided to hit it…two hours later, with 100 things far more important forgotten, I had raked out the length of the nursery driveway filling in all the potholes and clearing the fist-sized rocks! Wonder what was in that doobie?

Okay, that’s a wrap for today! Keep havin’ a great weekend ya’ll!

Lazy Sunday…overcast, drizzling and stoned! And I had such great plans! :upside_down_face: Think I managed all of three transplants, pulled another 2 males and checked everybody for stray balls (taking up more and more of each day now!).

Maybe I can salvage something from the afternoon?

Maybe it is just a good day to sit and enjoy the rain. :relieved: I think you have earned a peaceful rest day. :rainbow:

Yeah @Magu I succumbed to that idea too! Only problem is, I let it stretch into today too! :joy:

@Budderton Pinched this one a few times and she’s starting to fill in nuggets all over the place! I lightly seeded the bottom 3 branches. Liking the look of her! Thanks buddy!

Koh Tao gang… Another one leaning towards foxtailing. But I’ve got 3 in Solo’s that’ll get their timing right and I can’t wait!

KD said this was a GIANT version of his KD KT strain. Pretty small buds right now but we’ll see what she becomes.

@Tuned This one’s just been crankin’ along! Got her up close to the fan, so far holding up well!

@BobbyBudz Yo Bobby! I’ve had a shitload of males declare of the Baja Blasts over the last 2 weeks. Got a couple confirmed females and have set aside 3 males that look good. Will probably try to make seed at least on the lowers. I think I only have one or two females of the SFV x BB going…liking the look of them too! And the latest Powie Poison is a bit ‘chunkier’ than the previous ones, probably due to the 15 gallon pot.

Yanked a few more males today, got a few more Solo’s transplanted, a bit of staking done and laid out palms for the guys to start transplanting again tomorrow while I hit the Doc’s. Got a light shower overnight and into the morning, most welcome! Finally have lights all along my driveway for the first time in 22 years! A couple more tomorrow and I can start to move the males back. I hit up the “Group A” female and chopped back the male and collected some Powie Poison and re-hit 1 female for the second time. Think I finally got the AC/dehu in the tent working properly meaning I don’t have to run the high-powered de-hu! Things are drying up nicely now! Gonna be some trim jail time comin’ up this week!

Okay, dinner’s almost ready, time to eat! Hope you all had a great weekend!

That’s a lot of males. I wish there was an easy way to tell males as sprouts.

I hope you get good seeds and some good smoke.

Hump Day! Made it!

@Upstate Here’s a couple of the Peshawar Joe’s in 2 m. cages…

And a couple from @Budderton

Found a Sherbanger hermie… @Drsunshinestrains

A few in the upper greenhouse

Yo @BobbyBudz This is the first one of the SFV x BB to flower out. I’m really liking what I’m seeing! Bobby kindly sent me a shitload of lots of different strains he made and every one has been fantastic! Between a long drought, a month and a half of 95+ degree F heat and me pinching the hell out of these plants it’s surprising how few issues we’ve had! The Powie Wowie, Powie Pineapple and the Powie Poison have all just been turning out really nice bud-nuggets. I’ve tried to Wowie and love it, but today I rolled up a Cuban cigar-style doobie of the Powie Poison and spent 4 hours in the nursery very productively (of course I also shot a hundred photos!)

@Oldtimerunderground She’s still thickening up! Purple pistils aren’t as pronounced as the earliest ones but still a pink cast to the buds. I’ve got her right in front of the hurricane fan and her fans leaves have taken a beating…but happily no signs of any mold! Just a gorgeous plant! Thank you bro!

The Giant Black Bat Lillies are loving the dappled shade of the driveway…

Lastly, been doing’ some time in trim jail…not too bad as we’ve been wet trimming most things on the bush…Dehu & AC working well in the tent now…finally! And the newest water & electric bill dropped from $555 down to $333 this month, that’ll help a bit!

These are the tags we’ve been using for sex ID, gotta admit, they’ve been pretty handy! Nice to see so many orange ‘undeclared’ tags piling up!

Feels like I’m finally catching up on transplanting around here. Still doing a fair amount of it but the E&F tables are thinning down a bit now. Still keep finding tons more palms that want transplanting and gonna have to make another run for more dirt for the soil mix tomorrow.

Wow you are going through an amazing period of Bud madness @Tlander

At this stage, its Like walking through an Art gallery, looking at these grow shots.

Kudos to ALL the Breeders, but you ARE putting them through some true magic T

Hey @Tlander

Garden looking stunning as always!
Those Peshwars are gonna be huge!!!
All the crosses from @BobbyBudz looking amazing as well.
I have a bunch of his stuff vegging now to flower when Im back.

Sorry to hear one hermed on ya.
Ive seen 2 out of 24 plants I have grown out.
I believe its the purple punch side it comes from.
I hope it didn’t cause you any trouble.

Cheers bro!

Thanks ‘Missin’! I’m just havin’ a blast over here! The heat and dry were killer this year and I’m really glad it’s passing on. But it also gave me a very different grow environment to play around in and I’m grateful, especially looking in the wardrobe and drying tent! I’ll say it again (and again) OG is THE BEST! Thank you to everybody here!

@Drsunshinestrains - no problem caused, just disappointment that it’s not a girl. If one of the females is in something smaller than a 15 gallon bag I may pollinate one. I’ve got 2 Sherbanger males and one hermie! I believe there were 6 beans, so we still got a shot!

I think it was probably @BobbyBudz that turned me on to a couple Afgoo beans? I’ve got 2 of them showing female and one male. The females only have a few pistils showing at present so got a few more days to wait. And there’s 2 male Baja Blasts that look like they’ll be poppin’ balls tomorrow so gotta hunt up a mate. Still have 2 Peshawar Joe males in addition to the Old Silver Thai that I’ve been chopping back weekly now for a month! Oh. and 1 Tirah Valley…12 males to juggle in all!

Today was another big palm transplanting day! We’re planning for the day when the client will take away the giant Arenga Palm and I want to have a solid wall of replacement palms closer to the driveway. Shouldn’t be any problem finding enough, everywhere I look I find another 20 that need transplanting (6 mo. ago!). But it’s involved moving a lot of plants around…the Arenga makes a ton of shade and all the base has been surrounded by shade-loving plants that need to go elsewhere before it leaves!

Freakin’ weirdest humidity swings I’ve experienced in a long time now…today I opened the tent up to check on things ad found RH was at 46%! I’ve been spending a fortune year-round to keep the dehu & AC running 24/7 and can barely get it down to hover around 65%! Gonna be a quick-dry this time around. I don’t love it, but it beats the hell out of mold! :joy:

So, with things drying uP, we had to dedicate a little more time to trim jail today. I pulled out the Corey Heime x Blue Kush from @Tuned and my housekeeper and I knocked it out in one session. It got drier than I would have liked to let it get, to the point where sugar leaves just crumbled on impact, but there was still 50 g. of bud to jar uP. I’m gonna have to roll one up soon and try it! Looks delicious! Looks like these were about 15 weeks from germination. Would have loved to let 'em run another week but budrot reared it’s ugly head!

@slain Here’s the “orange” flowers with a red & orange plant tag to register from. I’d call 'em “Orange”?

I see I didn’t have time to take many pics today…well there were more than enough yesterday! I’m gonna grab some dinner. Have a great day all!

More trim jail!

The Durban Venom are like clouds of cotton candy! Very light and airy…and it smokes GREAT!

Okay, no worries Mother Hubbard! Cub-bard is no longer bare!

Buds comin’ on! I swear this is like growing auto-flowers! About 40% are trying to foxtail, showing me they are unhappy with the timing, but the other 60% look just fine! My crew has been making a LOT of “Green Curry” for dinner lately with everything that looks to be too much of a PITA to trim!

Lemon Grove is filling up again too!

Here’s a root ball from one of the three-gallon square pots. Finally getting close to utilizing all the mix!

On a sad note, found this Peshawar Joe struggling today. No sign of termites, plenty of water??? There may be a giant ‘grub’ down in the mix…we’ll see tomorrow.

Got a bunch more palms sorted and transplanted, Hauled in another truckload of soil mixin’s and there’s no end in sight for the transplantings! Okay, I’m due to check into trim jail for a couple hours tonight. Have a great day wherever you are!

Nice haul on the trimmed buddage, TL! That should keep you going for next week. The pistils on that Durb/Herc OG x BG are beautiful!! How are you finding the “improved” KDKT?

Yobro! I’m finding it really interesting! Tonight when I snapped a picture I was noticing that the calyx have a blueish purple cast to them that reminds me of lavender! Unfortunately, the photos don’t capture the color. Tight little buds spaced out on thin stems. Leaves (some anyway) have a unique up-turn to the serrations (See below). I’ll have to look at a tag to see if I noted the first flower date on the back? I wanna say 3 weeks? I made the mistake of smelling the Strange Fruit x Joker’s Candy when I walked into the greenhouse. BIG MISTAKE! Couldn’t smell anything else after that! But the looks tell me it’s gonna have a great smell/taste!

I forgot to say, the A New Hope x Cobra Lips is a STAR! Just lovin’ watching her puff uP daily!
