First time growing outside

Another tip for you.
Everything out there wants to eat your plants.
Here is what to do:
In a 1 gallon sprayer put in 1 tsp dawn dish soap and 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, fill with water and spray generously on leaves, top and bottoms, stalks and main stem. In other words the whole plant generously.
Don’t use to much cayenne or the sprayer tip will clog. If you only have a small hand sprayer use same ratio in smaller increments.
Repeat once a week or whenever you get out there.

Gave a calmag kelp foliar today. My mystery skunk not liking the outdoors, not sure what’s with that.

I foliar feed every other day, with kelp me kelp you 2teas per gallon. I’m completely sold on the benefits of consistent, proper foliar feeding. :metal:

Osmocote has several formulations. The 90 day release should be good for you situation. I would also mulch heavy at the base of the plants, with plant material from the surrounding vegetation (weeds), and if needed, a little chicken wire fencing would be helpful too. Any organics such as blood meal is a magnet to critters and digging. Good watering in veg is also key to big strong plants, as is pruning. Preventative spraying for insects, or closely monitoring them is important too. White flies love to eat weed leaves. Good luck bruh !! OD grower since 72 .

Well its been 24 days and finally made it back to see how the girls are doing. I was surprised to see them alive and kicking after nobody watered or fed them for the last 3 weeks. A few bug holes but just on a couple leaves. I expected 4 dead plants so quite happy.

You’re most welcome Doug

I don’t know if it’s the contrast with the surrounding foliage, but the weed leaves look almost like they have a blue hue to them. Spectacular! :star_struck:

Holy f man! Lol you definitely have a weed angel on your shoulder! It’s hardly rained and those plants are looking stellar. I love it.

I think having them directly in the ground like that instead of in pots is contributing to your success thus far.

Keep up the good work man! I always love hearing about ppl growing awesome weed without much effort.

So this was a fun experiment but unfortunately not a win. Got here last night to find 2 plants main stems snapped and budding just starting. That means end of October harvest which juat will not work. It is really cold by that point. Next year it’s autos.

that sucks sorry :-/

No biggie bud, the big issue is how late they started budding. Those holes will have autos in them next year so I can harvest in late Aug to Early September. Funny part is the 2 main sticks that are broken didn’t die which is pretty cool.

Ah better luck next year. Autos are the way :+1:t3:

That’s a huge bummer. I rather enjoyed having a few autos, and my Sweet Seeds SAD Fast. Harvested that SAD a few weeks ago, it was photo-sized but started flowering late June. Probably going to run that again, or maybe try another “fast” strain - photo/auto hybrid.

It’s rad to have harvest to smoke while I wait for the big girls. And they avoided the bug problems for the most part.

I have the same problem. Mine have just started flowering as well.

Yeah, it was still cool to see them growing anyway. Autos next year for sure.
