First time growing outside

You can look into light deprivation I did it this year when I put my plants out side too early and didn’t want to have a few re veg so i got a earlier harvest on a few plants used pvc and panda plastic you can cause them to flip early late June early July so they finish way before October

Not sure what you mean? Are you basically saying to grow your outdoor plants in a home made tent built out of pvc and panta film?

he’s referring to giving photo plants darkness before the days get shorter and getting them blooming for an early harvest say sept

So basically growing in a home made tent outdoors. That would mean having to tend to them daily opening and closing a structure. It sounds like way too much work. Not to mention these are at my lake house and not my home. I think autos are a much easier idea. Start them indoors and then move them out for an Aug harvest.

Thank God for Autos’s

Autos are really convenient. A buddy of mine, who worked in a drug task force, explained that the cops like to go searching in October. That’s when the plants are as big as they’re going to get, and they were most likely to catch someone harvesting. Autoflowers negate that tactic.

Hey @DougDawson, that’s an unfortunate end to your first summer grow. I have Texada Time Warp and another outdoor Ultra early love that both have some Ruderal genetics in them. I grow in southern BC and mine flipped at the end of July without any influence from me. You provided @Granola with some PPP pollen that I ended up using. If you want to try again next year let me know and I can either get you seeds or clones. Its not the best stuff in the world but it grows nicely in around the 50th parallel.

It’s cool bud, this was really a fun experiment. I did not expect these plants to take so long to flip. I wish we had the weather here to keep these going till harvest but it’s cool, gave me a good idea of timelines here. I get to start my next run on Sunday so life is good. Next year I will try again with some autos so I can time things better.

Same thing has happened to me. I’m just gonna pull the plants when they die from hard frost or when I think the mold risk is too high.
