Flat Earth nonsense

They don’t build anything without leveling the ground first.

Flat earth folks prolly say they level the earth before building because of hills and stuff.

A drop of water is spherical.

what is the flat earth “explanation” for an eclipse? i swear it looks round. lol

My understanding is that it is like a frisbee disk. So, if the disk surface was perpendicular to the sun when the moon passes behind the earth would have a round shadow.

What I don’t understand is what does the ocean do at the edge? Or is there a convenient land barrier?

that would explain a round shape during an eclipse. but there has not been a documented occurrence of an eclipse where the disk was not perpendicular to the sun, which would cause the shadow like the pic posted above.

you can also see a ships mast stay in view longer than the lower parts of a ship as it travels away. suggesting there is a curve since the ship disappears at the lower section further up until the mast is gone too. like a car passing over a hill crest. you loose view of the tail lights while the third (high mount) light is still visible

this is explained by the law of perspective though and not the curvature of the earth. like if a cars disappearing in to the horizon in the distance, you’ll see its wheels disappear first etc.

if you were to pull out a telescope you would see the entire ship again. using high powered telescopes you can frequently see objects at a distance so far it should fully be hidden by curvature if there were any

thats the thing, if you build a 100 mile railroad and the entire thing is level that means you’d have to be shoring up the far end of it 800 inches or 66.6 feet. you wouldn’t want it leveled, you’d want it sloping downward at the same angle as the earth curves (8 inches per mile)

a lunar eclipse or solar eclipse? hold up a piece of paper in front of a light shining on an orange and you’ll see the flat paper creating a curved shadow on the orange… now i’m not saying the earth is a sphere, and i don’t think this is how lunar eclipses happen, but i’m going to look further in to this

Far out man!:man_astronaut:xxxxxxxxx

Your kinda wrong about the law of persepective…in tour description you still see the whole telephone pole…but see it getring smaller as a whole…the curvature and mast of a ship segment was not perspective…when the ship disapears from sight and you still see the mast…you wont see the ship in a telescope…

no, the bottom will disappear first in the horizon even on a flat plane, and in the youtube video linked there is a video of the ‘disappearing ship’ reappearing in a telescope at 2:20 - as he zooms back out you can see the mast after the hull has disappeared.

in this experiment they use a well calibrated high powered laser pointed out towards a boat in the water and even at 6km distance the laser is not much higher above the point it would be on a flat plane. here are some of their results (distances in meters)

what about google maps?

I think it was Mick West that did the math debunking the laser but i forget. If i find it i will post it.

interesting does this refute each point from eric dubays book or is it an unrelated list of 200 things? will have to check out thanks for sharing. i’ve seen multiple laser tests but this one showed their calibration method and it seemed pretty solid, but i’ll have to look up mick west too.

my problem is NASA, ESS, roskosmos etc have all been caught lying so many times it gets the noggin joggin. although it could be intentional just to fuck with the flat earthers.

Private citizens can reach low earth orbit with rockets/capsules. Early reports are that Earth is actually NOT a pizza pie.

every independent test i’ve seen with weather ballons etc have shown a completely flat horizon, even up to 125 thousand feet, unless of course they’re using a fisheye lens

The 200 proofs article wasn’t aimed at you it was meant for the whole thread, but i hope you enjoy it. I enjoy our swap of information and if you like your theory stick to it. You are fun and haven’t been mean to me so i see no harm. I will try to respect your opinion and will treat you kindly also. You also realize you are in the minority so barbs and sneering are part of the program. Just ask a Scientologist. Ha! Ha!

But none of these weather balloons are able to photograph the edge of pizza planet??

An Australian, a southern Brazilian, and a South African, all see the Southern Cross while looking due-south.That is not possible on pizza-planet.

You can also see the rings of Saturn for yourself, through an $89 telescope, and the curvature of the moon with a pair of binoculars.

yeah i don’t actually think the earth is flat, flights like this would be impossible, but its sure fun to pretend sometimes
