Going away for the weekend, tips to keep plants from drying out?

Im taking a trip this weekend and my mother plant has been guzzling water. I have to water almost once a day. Any tips to get me through the weekend? Im thinking about turning my light down to low and maybe even turning off my fan blowing on the canopies.

Edit: thank you all for your replies. I have read them all and have many options now! Happy grow!

A weekend should be fine. If you’re worried about it put the mother in a small bucket with an 1” or so of water.

But really I wouldn’t worry about a weekend. Just soak it before you leave. If it’s dry for a day no big deal.

What @Foreigner said. Leave them in a tray so they’re able to wick the water up. A weekend is usually alright. Especially in soil.

Edit. Or these

On the other hand, you could do a small irrigation setup from a bucket to the plant.

Or just watering really good before you go, and when you get back, it’ll be fine. Just call it stress testing, lol.

Turning the lights down is a big one. That works well for me. :+1:

Same goes for any signs of trouble, dial the lights back and you’ll have time to figure out what’s up.

Get you a Liter Bottle, fill with Water, insert it about 2 - 3 inches in the Container. Your plants will only drink what they need. Queen :honeybee: does it with her House Plants. SS/BW…mister :honeybee: :100:  :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Do you not have any bottles and some wick to make a self feeder system? By putting a water bottle higher than you’re plants and sticking wick into the bottle of water and then to you’re plants it will self feed :green_heart::v:

I see you got lots of replies but I have a couple questions? What medium are you using and what size pots?

If the moms so big that she’s drinking heavy maybe just take some new cuts and leave them to root for the weekend. Easy peasy, genetics preserved, I’d give her a heavy watering too, leave a bit of runoff in the drip tray then boom ya got a big gal good wet n ready for flower.

If it’s a mother, cut the roots back, and repot with new soil. You can also cut back some branches so there are less leaves. Turn light down. Overwater. Leave it sitting in a tray with water.
