I am not sure how I can manage an absence of more than a week?
How to take care of the mother plants? Are there other hazards? Fire because of defective equipment? Water leakage???
How do you manage that?

I gret my daughters boy friend to look after them, I make him follow me around and water them , Then when I go I send him a text on the days I want him to water them so he doesn’t forget. He sends me pics every 3 days to check them out.
As for fire and leaks there is nothing you can do to prevent accidents happening. Except have a fire extinguisher and a mop and bucket on stand bye.
Ya, a trusted friend or an automated watering system are pretty much the only options. Both have the potential to fail, but I’d probably trust the machine more than most people to get the job done lol
Dont wanna sound like a jerk or anything, But there’s one thing that I must say …
YOU need to tend to your garden at all costs especially if your after “Big rewards”, or “Hefty yields”, or “Quality”… You get back, what you put into it. Taking off for weeks at a time is not a good idea at all.
I have read countless posts about other people tending gardens, and it usually ends up in a total disaster. Im just sayin’ … Good luck
Blumats will let you go away. They work great
I’ve got a @Ghandisflipflop to look after my outdoors. My indoor runs on autopots and sonoff gear so they are usually fine doing their thing without interruption for around 7 days
It is just about the mother plants between grows. I guess I wouldn’t leave for more than 3 days while doing a grow.
But leaving for 2 weeks between the grows need to be possible.
Ok. So far:
Any other ideas?
I still have the problem. I consider going into holiday for two weeks.
I have a table filled with mother plants.
I think I will have enough nutrient solution in the reservoir (500l) for the mother plants.
But I guess they will grow into the lights at least?
So before leaving I would cut the mother plants down to max and turn the lights low to 400 or even 250watts.
Anybody with experience here, leaving at least the mother plants to themselves?
I’ve gone away for a week and they’ve been fine.
But:
They were relatively small plants in relatively large containers and I reduced the light intensity so they would use less water.
They were very unhappy when I got back. But they bounced back quickly.
Edit - these were outdoor plants I brought inside when I went away.
For fire prevention I keep one of these in my grow room at all times:

I have a small room so I only need one. Though I might add another
I also have a nest protect in the room to alert me via my phone if there is smoke.
All my watering is automated using sumps in a big rez on timers. Only thing I worry about really is my pH swinging out of range if I’m gone more than 4-5 days
