Great musicians playing a great song: All along the watchtower

Love this picture, I’ve stood there where they are playing quite a few times… I recognize the Masonic hall sign! Makes me miss old Northern California…

Brings me back to walking down in haight ashbury while dosed to kingdom come, and later playing music with other musicians on the street, my buddy had a resonator guitar, I had an acoustic, and his girl had a violin it was awesome the harmonies and melodies that were spontaneously created!

and everyone was so very kind and welcoming and shared everything from weed, hash, L, shrooms, alcohol, and even food… I remember seeing growers from Arcata and Mendocino and such come down a bit before croptober and hired a bunch of heads from the haight to trim.

Hash pucks the size of hockey pucks and full melt for days… those were the days haha

Enough waking down memory lane for now…

I truly will always have a soft spot in my heart and my ears for the pigpen era of the Grateful Dead… not quite as refined as say the 70s more raw and undiluted like the doses back in the day…

Other keyboardists for the dead were incredibly awesome in their own right like Brent Mydland or Kieth Godchaux, but Pigpen brought a lot to the table…

Have a blessed and grateful day y’all!!
