Growin' and Chuckin'

Thanks, brother. Miner setback here. Everything has been sanitized. New tent and the 1000x computer scope came today. And from the looks of things, summer tour will be canceled so I’ll be getting some beans going in about 3 - 4 weeks. Really psyched to get some of these Sour Martian Haze f2 beans out to our OG community.

Progress. New tent installed new intake air filter installed. Lights and hvac set up. All I need is a carbon filter and some seedlings…only 16 beans of the SSSDH x Martian Mean Green to play with. Gonna wait one more week to be extra careful. Don’t want waste all this time and work. And yes, that’s my UV lamp about to blast the new setup. OCD stylee!!

16 seven year old Sour Martian Haze seeds stored in cabinet, average temperature around 65 degrees, popped last week, 16 seedlings this week. All looking healthy. Hoping those mites are all dead. It’s been 5.5 weeks since cleaning out the last grow. Going to veg for two or three weeks, then go right to bud to produce f2’s. Gonna keep the two males that show pollen sacs last and do an open pollination. F2’s will be available for trade. Also dropped 4 Jamaican bag seed from some bud I bought in St. Martin several years ago. Have no clue if they’ll pop. Only been 3 days in the dirt.

I plan on running some of your VV this summer outside. Maybe the Casper cross too. Super stoked. Congrats on the 100%germ rate. I’m going to pop some old seeds this summer to at least get clones from what makes it.

My friend from Mass just finished a few f2’s. He said the yield is ok but pure garlic funk fire. I can tell from his plant picture, he doesn’t know how to grow Kush. I told him to search for a better yielding pheno, but he’s a little lazy. He’s keeping 2 of the 4 phenos to run again. Here’s a few pics…

Moved these babies into some Roots Original and the next size up. Been about 6 weeks since the clean out. Still blasting the utility room with UV-C every few days for a couple hours. If I still have russets, I should notice signs in the next couple weeks. Nothing happening with the Jamaican seeds. I’ll give it another week before I toss them out.

Moving along nicely! Just transplanted into 2gal pots today. Gonna let these grow for a week or two, depending on how big they get. Just using one 600 until plants acclimate for 3 or 4 days, then I’ll turn on the other. I tossed the two weakest plants because I ran out of dirt.

Flowering started Friday. Loving these plants. Sour skunk aroma, grows fast, beefy stems, f2’s on the way!

Those are the Jamaicans?

I’m getting ready to drop some of the VV and others. I’m going to share a few with @oleskool830. He got excited when I mentioned I would be growing them.

I’ll put up some pics down the road. They’ll be grown outdoors. Thanks again bro. peace

None of the Jamaican seed popped. It was a long shot. These are all Sour Martian Haze. A cross I made in 2012. (SSSDH x (Shark’s Breath x G13/Haze) There is Jamaican in the lineage, but lots of other things as well. Opposite ends of the spectrum compared to Valley Vixen.

Cristalin at Underground Seed Collective had a Jamaican and should still be working with it. I don’t have much else for details.

It would be nice to bring a Jamaican or pure Thai equatorial landrace into some things I have. We all need more Sativa in our lives!

They had a ColJam, Colombian Gold x Jamaican, and supposed to be reworking it. I’ll have to check with him. He was on here for a little while but was advertising his company without striking a deal with LJ, I believe.

He has a thread on Opengrow but has been away for a while working on their storefront business I think. I always want his ColJam. It had a good rep. I’ll check with him.

I have some old Mexi seeds to look through. I plan on trying to germinate some of them this year. I know there is good stuff in them, but I gotta find it. I also came across some Lemon Thai but have to make seeds right away. Not that many seeds. I’ll keep you posted.

Sounds good. I used to get Mexican grown outdoor in SoCal, when I lived in Santa Barbara. Definitely do a hunt

Big day today. All plants showing sex, except one late bloomer. 4 males, 9…yes 9 females!! I usually hit 50% female, but this is outstanding. I kept two males, one for its sweet, yet ultra sour skunky stank, and the other for it’s perfect Christmas tree structure. I Since I have so many females, I will collect pollen in another room and pollenate one or two buds with a q-tip, when the calaxes are plentiful. I’ll be happy with 50 - 100 seeds per plant. All females are topped and fans removed, except for the top two internodes.

Day 16. 10 females getting much bigger than anticipated. But I’ll deal. Males were moved to separate room to collect pollen.

Notice the difference from the last pictures 3 days ago. SSSDH in this cross is showing off it’s Haze lineage. I removed and trimmed one female. There’s not enough room anymore. Threw it in the room with the males and completely pollinate the little bitch. Everything is as healthy as can be. No sign of russet mites. My solution worked perfectly and is a permanent solution without using any chemicals.

Day 29. Garden is popping. Never grew plants this large in 2gal pots, but they seem to loving the Age Old and Budswell nutrient combo. No burn and as healthy as can be.two of the ten females are pollinated and showing seed growth. Leaves are starting to frost. So far, so good. Hope these finish around 70 days,

They filled right back in huh? Looking good.

Growth on these for two gal pots is ridiculous. Most of the plants have a sour bubblegum flavor. I have a feeling these are going at least 11 weeks. Seeded plants are looking good. Should have some to hand out to the OG.
