3gr sea salt to 1L of H20 will make sea water

Ok… and it looks like Chris Trump recommends diluting seawater at 1:30. I’m already diluting the JLF at 1/30 once it’s done; should I be diluting the 3g/L seawater solution at 1:30 before adding the plant matter and starting the fermentation as well, or full strength seawater?

just put a pinch of salt in, the sea water dilution is more for when your measuring in making solutions like Seed , Fruit or Harvest formula

you can just use 1gr of SS to 1L of H2O to make that dilution though

Question on this Heady… do you let it sit for a while again after adding fresh material or is there already enough breaking down action happening that you can just continue to use?

I usually let it sit for a while after adding new material. I’m up to 4 buckets of JLF in the yard (arugula, dandelion, food scrap, cannabis) so I can just switch to a different one as needed.

Burdock, dandelion, nettle, white clover, ground ivy, comfrey, lambs ear and wild spinach all sourced right out of my back yard!!!
I like to use an old 1 gallon glass fermenter I purchased for making kombucha. Works great!

I use this fermenter for making LAB and FAE.
Generic burp lids works nicely for SSE too!

That’s a cool vessel, is that a thermometer ring thingy on it? Pretty slick

Yeah it’s pretty convenient having that stick-on temp Guage. I bought a 1gal kombucha kit at my local beer brewing shop. Made a few batches but I just don’t drink it enough so it has been repurposed for the garden needs now. The spigot is really handy, I don’t have to strain anything anymore.

Nice, yeah spigots is where its at! Ive been thinking about bucking up and buying 9 or 10 of these to store my inputs in, would make measuring out a lot easier for the larger volume solutions

I make my FAA in the orange sports coolers, sure makes harvesting easier! I should use some of those for the FPJ/FFJ’s duh

That’s actually a great idea using the sports cooler. Depending on the time of year I have to use a heating mat with my glass, but that insulated cooler would certainly maintain temps better. I have a couple of them but I use them for all grain beer brewing.

Yeah, you’re collecting bacteria, not milk, so its all good. I use milk powder for price. Not ashamed in the least.

Don’t forget, you can offgas in your nice warm gro-tent, and let it really spike your co2. Crank the lights, camera… action!

I’ve been saving these up for next year since I’m thinking to do some KNF fermentation over the summer:

Just hit a few apartment building recycling dumpsters?

If all your dilutions were set up for 1.5oz measurements this would be fun:
