Growing Seedlings and Vegetative plants

I’m trying to grow seedlings and vegetative plants in the same tent. My thoughts are i can use a humidity done for awhile but i’ll have to get the seedlings out at some point and try and condition them to handle their new environment. I should get a separate tent for them but costs wise I can’t right now. Anyone have suggestions and success with growing these very delicate plants with other thriving plants in the same tent?

I do this all the time.

Your lights should be at the proper height away from the plants in veg. Meanwhile your seedlings will be in a tray on the floor in the beginning.

Once they get a little taller put them on top of 3 or 5 gallon pots so they’re closer to the light getting the proper amount of DLI.

Use the humidity dome as needed. For me I stop using it after a week starting the count after they’ve grown out of the soil. That way they can get some fan action early and develop enough strength to stand up solo.

Seedlings should be started in a humidity dome if started in a veg tent. I like to shade mine under the larger plants.
After around a week they should be fine to take out. If left too long they’ll get all stretchy and can tip over.

The best advice for seedlings is LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! They’re a lot stronger on their own than you think. Any messing with them is asking for trouble.

I do it all the time. I’ve not noticed any issues doing it that way myself.

Sure you can grow them together! Once they sprout put a milk crate or some other stool under them to level the hight. Wouldnt worry about humidity domes after they break the surface of the soil. :ok_hand: good luck

This is exactly what I use my 2x2 for :+1: i will often have seed-starts or clone cuttings mixed in with well-established veg plants. The trick is, you often need to boost your seed-starts or cuttings to keep them in the light, otherwise they can get shaded-over by the veg canopy

Here’s a good example of what I mean, i have a seedling up on a bucket so that the bigger plants don’t block its light

Great advice and it seems everyone is on the same page. I’ll start implementing this and bring them out of the dome today. Thank you all.

I swear that they don’t give a damn fuck if your temps are decent (not hitting the 15°c/59°f).
If your temps are good, you will just make them lazzy, slow and with low defenses with unnecessary saturated, static and high RH air-exchange around the plant.

Once plants are established in the veg tent, they should help provide cover and humidity for seedlings. I start seeds in my veg tent, too. It’s usually somewhere around 73f/70%. Just ensure there’s decent airflow across/around the tops of the seedling pots and I think you should be good. I put bigger plants on the outside and seedlings in the middle. Good air exchange is my biggest opponent when dealing with any seedling issues.

In the early stage, use an eye dropper to water. Prevents a heavy hand an possible damping off situation. “Less is more” approach. Good luck.

I like shading them under the bigger plants for a few days. However, I only use domes on cuttings, never on a seedling.
I have a wood frame 22" off the floor that goes around each tent. Then I have these plwood triangles that will catty corner that frame and be shelf enough for 3 solo’s. Doesn’t take too much from the tent and they get lit up well.
