dibs please!
MMM so far no, why i said that is when i use CS it typically works all the time just knocks the plants back a bit, as of late been playing with the STS which is more gentle with the plants though change over has been sporadic or not that strong, so either ill be doing a more concentrated sts spray this round or may come back in with CS afterwards if im not seeing what i want.
My STS mix may just be off on the low concentration side.
Iād would love to get in on the roll of the dice.
Iāll definitely be watching to see how you make out. I donāt mind a little set back if the CS will definitely do the trick but obviously if thereās a dosage of STS that will give a 90%+ success rate with no pause in growth that would be ideal.
Yes please to some seeds please, lol. Up at 2,00am this morning to get in early
Cheers Johnny
Kinda my thought even with spraying once a day with STS change over and amount of pollen sacs have been slow and low. So im a little on the fence as in to use the concentrated stuff i already have that i just need to dilute, though dilute less this round to see. Or just mix a new batch of concentrated stuff with a few changes.
think the discrepancy is i mix too small of a batch so the ratios could be off.
Yes please @Mr.Sparkle
While your on the subject of CS and STS, I was listening to the KIS podcast this week. The gentleman was talking about plant growth regulators and the subject of STS came up at around the 40 minute mark.
He suggested that the silver products are not labeled and generally not safe. He mentioned two safer ethylene blocker products that are used mainly in apple production, 1-MCP(1-Methylcyclopropene) and AVG (Aminoethoxyvinylglycine). A quick web search found these products, but none of them seemed to be sold without contacting a representative.
rabbit hole indeed, and of course silver products wont be labeled for our use and we dont smoke or consume and sprayed plants soā¦
Did You roll yet? Sorry I was reading a long thread before I got here.
Interesting. Iāve always seen people consider CS as completely safe if youāre not smoking the treated areas. STS is a relatively new concept to me but I figured the same about it.
When you say contacting a representative is that a formality or is there some sort of licensing required to purchase?
These products arenāt labeled for use on cannabis either, I still wouldnāt smoke them. I think he is speaking more to the environmental impact of using silver at scale.
I believe they are targeting people with apple orchards, so they have a representative to help them get the right amount etc. I didnāt go beyond the ācontact a representativeā, but Iām sure they would be able to send a sample if one inquired. That would be the first step down the rabbit hole.
Only 1pm here and already I am out of likes. That is what I get for liking from midnight to 3 am SO
I am glad I am on the east side and you must be west because;
Actually, I just start reading all my notificationās from the bottom up.
no at noonish i will which is 2+ hrs from now
Also @ReikoX the ethylene blocking in apple production is to prevent spoilage it puts the apples in a how would you can hibernation like state where they only start to age once being sent out to consumers or the likes, lived in an area that apples were one of there main crops, apart from grapes/wine
I just tried to like this post and Iām out too
I never thought it would be so big a deal to be out of likes but I donāt like it!
I heard that one too, and that caught my attention as well. Iām sure using silver Iām moderation is probably fine, but who knows. Heavy metals are hard to remediate from your body. Definitely a rabbit hole.
Dibs, dibs, dibs, and one more dibs! Yeah! And dibs again!!! Yes please! @Mr.Sparkle !!
I donāt know what the big deal is about CS treated plants. When I did mine, the āShe-maleā was trashed. The entire plant was trashed. Not just the treated areas. She/he served itās purpose. Thank you and goodbye.
Now the female that it pollinated, after seed removal, was added to either the smoke jar or in the freezer for later use. I have not used STS, but I think I would probably treat it the same.
At the least the possibility of it being a concern has killed any lingering questions about treating one or two branches and considering the rest of the plant ok. I was leaning that way anyway but that sealed it.
Oh hell no! If you even DREAM about smoking any part of a plant thatās been treated with silver, you better wake up an slap the shit out of yourself!
