Growing with Mr.Sparkle : Trials & Progression 2020

You’re running a tight ship there! I need to get a small vac to clean my rooms, I’m reminded every time I look at your pics lol

No added calmag with the maxi? I switched off of mega crop a while ago also and I’m not sure if I need to use it anymore, it was definitely required with the mega.

yeah used the vacuum tonight, and no added extra cal or mag yet, but i did just up the feed cause of some deficiencies and issues i was seeing, with mega though i didn’t need to add anything either just had to run it at appropriate levels well at least with the v1 stuff the v2, v3 stuff though when mixed the low pH of it is what threw me off so i can’t say if that was the issue or an off balance, gonna try some again though just to see.

Its a shame I really want to like the Mega, but going back to a simple 2 part and having way better results is just so nice…its like being on vacation lol

Yeah i agree, i want to add some comments over in the greenleaf thread in regards to the pH thing and sediment but i just want to make sure thats the case first before throwing out those suggestions or comments as i really liked the v1 stuff apart from its hydrophilic tendency to really suck any moisture from the air, and sediment and large constituant size differences.

What strain this time? I can never keep up with you and your seed starting!

Lol I know me too at times, but had 6 types layed out this morning and rolled a dice… Ended up being the last of my DD f2’s, so something interesting should come out of it

Update, left side is doing well, right side is whatever but the remaining plants are obviously on the left, only one im thinking of keeping is the perkier C9D on the right. Going to start running higher feed of around 1.8ec from this point out, also may run megacrop on the new seedlings just at proper pH ranges just to see.

Did some shuffling, also have the auto watering setup up and going now “eek” feeding at 1.8ec and am in the high 5’s as far as pH goes.

Guess we will find out if they step up or tap out…

Looking great. I love your scientific/experimental approach to growing

More like fumbling around but with a process or two at times  lol

Thanks for the compliment.

Even though a day later and not my couple day post, ah why not post.

Plants seem to be enjoying the autowatering so far still to early to tell but they aren’t showing negative signs, and looks like ill have 10 of the DDf2’s by the looks of it.

Guess its three days later.

Right side, front two on the left and center are gonna be purple plants and im playing within the green phenos for these so they will probably get chopped. and then ill move over the other cream mandarins.

Left side some yellowing and phosphorus spotting, not sure whats up as they are being fed decently high at 1.8ec, gonna up pot the C9D thats in the cup just to even out the watering cycle differences between pot volumes, and i have 9 of the DDf2’s but 3 i expect to cull as they are showing the crinkle mutation but im gonna wait a bit before i jump on that.

Guess i should start looking to starting more seeds too.

So the two purple plants were culled, and the one green pheno plant was repotted into a smaller square pot, and all the cream mandarins are now over on the left side res.

Right side cab, thinned out the seedlings of crinkle mutants, the small one on the left is 95% one but i’m just waiting another couple days so i can see the next set of leaves.

As for the flowering plants the C9D got up potted to a square pot and they are looking so so, yellowing and phosphorus deficiency spotting on the lowers and also a bit of tip dieback/burning on the uppers, the other plants were yellowing on the bottom as well so i gave everything a good flood with forced run off just incase salt build up on the older ones and cycle over for all to equalizing things as a base point, and im planning on increased feed on my next fill, and watch as see what the plants want to try and tell me.

Also trying to decide on if or when i may CS spray a branch on the C9D to go for some pollen, but would like it to be healthier and im on the fence about this one as i’m not seeing much resin production, but its also looks to be a longer running pheno with how its been growing. So may just make a few seeds, but do a further hunt with the current 1/4 auto seed stock. that this plant came from.

Need to decide which ones to spray on the right cab as well and when.

Oh and started up some more seeds, but of course  some GT2xSBR from @ReikoX he sent to me, i want to find a good plant or two to either cross between each other making f2’s and or cross a bit of pollen over to a fruity smelling strain as i enjoyed the resin but want a bit less pungent smell.

Looking good as alway Mr.Sparkle. I’m following along with your C9D auto projects, will be curious to see the end results and outcomes of the plants

Cheers Johnny

well im already at end results for it, in that i made a photoperiod into an auto, anything more i pursue in it will just be bonus so guess we will see, its just the ripe pineapple like sent thats in there that i like, the resin though left me as a mess on the floor about a month back, so would like to tone that down a bit lol

Did that res change out on all of them cause the oldest plants with the recent flushes i did made the res level go to 2.6ish ec on that one, being feeding at 1.8 soooo yeah, pH was fine though.

Cause i haven’t been doing feedings with run off since pretty much the start as i was trying to get things onto the dry side as i was overwatering and other issue.

We will see how they change as ill give them a good flooding shortly on the new res fills.

Just made up some pots for these, they have cracked and started their tap roots. Just direct planting from here.

My new habit of where i put my seeds to crack, added heat from the light panel helps its only about 3-5 degrees C above ambient but makes quicker work of the seed soak and cracking, i just use a spritz or two of H202 in my water as a bacteria precautionary and oxygenation of the water, which also helps the seed float as well, gets a warm and cold cycle in the process too, lights on lights off.

Lol I think I read that post the other day, guess i could have been less lazy and gone and looked lol.

The purple kush auto I grew ended up with a fruity grapefruit smell and flavour (uncured) with a nice heady high… if I get some extra seeds I could send you a few of those for your cross… they’re femmed though so I dunno if you want to breed with them. It took 65 days sprout to chop
