Thoughts? Anyone using one?
Iv heard good things, not using once mself but seen a few used, the trim isnt bad but its still not manicured bud. its probably a worthwhile investment if you got a large crop to trim up solo and dont want to be stuck for days on end trimming. You still have to remove the big fan leaf stems but in my experience i can actually pluck them off with myfingers and they pop off the stem.
I do not have a ton to trim, but I think I’m going to try the vivosun bowl trimmer.
I have had two of them…One from Ipower had rivited on rubber fingers that broke within a month of light use. Then I bought the The Clean Cut M-9000S with lock nuts to hold the silicon fingers and everything about it beats the Ipower.
I only use it for lowers when I am sick of hand trimming…Does a decent job IF YOU GO SLOWLY and reverse directions of the spin.
Here’s a clip of a Vivosun 19" Bowl Trimmer in action. The buds they’re using are wet because they’re from outdoor plants and were washed.
I trim by hand so I can have the best quality trim for RSO (or bubble hash). I trim in 2 passes. The first to remove all the fan leaves and leaf material that doesn’t have any trichomes. The second pass to trim everything nice and tight. I LOVE the idea of having a machine that can help me achieve this, but I don’t think it exists yet.
To each their own but that’s a horrible trim I hand trim nothing but top shelf for me .
I have an iPower, and I can not find the wet trim blade atm. I know its here somewhere, and replacements are cheap enough, I would just rather not let my buds get any drier due to previous issues with over drying. Does anyone happen to know how much difference it makes to use the wrong blade?
I’m going to hazard a guess, so take it as you will, but the “dry” blade will be finer essentially, closer spacing etc. That’s my understanding from tumbler trimmers, I don’t know why the bowl would be much different. When cutting wet material it might “gum” up.
I had noticed the blade for wet trim was serrated, where the dry trim is a straight blade. I had assumed maybe that so it would be able to grab anything wet that was stuck up against the bud, but I will probably have to clean them up either way, so I was hoping it would be safe to use. Hadn’t thought any other differences that might not have been so easy to spot.
