High resolution images on Overgrow

Thanks so much @LemonadeJoe for clarifying that. Helps cool down the alarmist in me. Now for that stupid whitebalance setting LOL

heres an idea, why not give pictures x amount of time at high quality and then after a year, drop it to ~5 megapixels so people can keep their old pics but they dont take up as much room server side, i know some of my pics contains TOO MUCH detail, at full resolution, if i wanted to specifically point out something i would use macro instead of uploading a 20 megapixel shot of a plant including all of the background and dirt and extra stuff

A post was merged into an existing topic: How to upload photos to Overgrow :camera_flash:

Perhaps registered users might see higher rez images than anonymous? Thus encouraging more users to register and actually take part instead of sitting on the outside.

A default of 800x600 for anonymous users should reduce the load for a bit.

Hey @LemonadeJoe, I tried to post short timelapse videos but mp4 is not allowed and the maximum size for gif files is 1000kb. Any chance this could be changed? mp4 with 10mb would be nice, gif with 10mb would be rather bad quality but better than nothing. (Uploading to YouTube is not an option for me).

Sorry, adding support for video or animation is not planned.

If you have the file saved in Dropbox or some other cloud sharing, you can paste a link to the video which will render nicely in the post.

Thanks, but I’m not going to upload my illegal grow to some outside account with personal data, nor will I publicly connect my selfhosted cloud space to OG. :man_shrugging:

If its not too big, imgur works well and is EZ PZ.

How about being able to expand images full resolution when there are more than one image in a post?

Sure, I can also click on the download button and open that in a new tab.
I’m talking about in the post itself, like you can with a single image in a post, but in a post with multiple images.
