Yeah smoking bleach is cool, but have you tried injecting it?
I inject bleach and ammonia at the same time. I call it cleanballing.
Bleach or some other chlorine solution are necessary to kill hlvd and other viroids.
H202 is NOT effective no matter what you might think. Not against this particular viroid. A butane torch will not inactivate it nor kill it.
You need chlorine or virkon s or similar. The information is easily found with simple searches.

Is this like HPV for plants. I hope my cannabis seeds don’t grow Cauliflower
@ColeLennon - primary vector for sexually transmitted plant diseases.
Wear a plant condom. I believe it goes over the node.
I’m gona be the “bird on a wire” guy here and say:
I SUSPECT FOUL PLAY!!!
I mean. … California has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS cherished its cannabis stock. We’re World renowned, and for good reason IMO. So this sudden epidemic-level infestation of HLVD? WHAT THE FUCK???
“What foul play”, you ask? --anyone recall the paraquat sprayings back in the day? The Govt tried to screw us, and something like 60% of the market got infested with poison-sprayed herb. So, who’s to say some Govt or industry big-wig isn’t flying around like Ray Croc looking for land to plop a McDonald’s onto, and dropping hlvd spores along the way??
I mean COME ON. Really??! Over 90% OF CA FARMS??!? This is their LIVELIHOODS, do you think ALL OF THEM would be so careless??
I suspect fuckery
You know how many articles I can find on h202 being effective against viroids? Zero.
Bear in mind that I’m not disagreeing that bleach will sterilize tools.
So the study says:
"Those plants were evaluated against “Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV), Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd), Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), and Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV).”
Because that study doesn’t utilize Hplvd on cannabis, it’s impossible to draw conclusions about Hplvd on cannabis from it.
As far as H2O2, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Find me something saying that H2O2 won’t kill Hplvd and I’ll concede that it doesn’t. TUMI talks about cleaning tools with bleach, not treating soil or seeds.
It’s still a viroid.
And any hlvd specific study will back this same claim up. None will claim h202 is effective against it.
So I fail to see the difference
Ah yes, so all viroids and plants are exactly the same.
Again, absence of evidence isn’t evidence of absence. By your logic I could claim that nuclear weapons don’t kill viroids because I can’t find a study saying that they do.
The only thing that TUMI says about H2O2 is referring to cleaning tools. Which again, I’m not talking about.
Zerotol 2.0 has H2O2 as an active ingredient and according to their site is effective against TMV. So H2O2, in conjunction with paracetic acid, is effective in killing at least one viroid.
There’s anecdotal reports of people saying h202 to sterilize tools of this viroid works, but any scientific study says otherwise.
You can’t sterilize the plant. The only way to get it out of the plant is to outgrow the virus and take a clean cut. Meristem tissue culture.
You CAN bleach the seeds and I have. 20 second soak in a 10% or better chlorine solution, same as you would use for the tools. Change gloves in between. Doesn’t harm the seed at all.
The oxidate/zerotol your clones idea doesn’t actually work to remove the viroid from the plant.
This is not a happy conversation, for sure.
But, on the same topic… It is believed that the Azad Kashmir beans from Diggy in 2020 were infected with HLVD.
I then took his beans, and did the seed run and distributed them across the globe. Some of them might have the virus. This really fucks with my head. We just did not know until it was too late.
If you got Azad Kashmir beans from me, I’d say burn them.
Ive recently chatted with barefrog and he gave me some clean AK beans. I am going to do a fresh seed run of the Kashmir next winter for the community.
But please, don’t keep the ones from the last run. And don’t give them away to anyone else!
Ah I vaguely remember hearing about that. Bummer dude. Noted tho!
Again, I’m not talking about tools. We’re all on the same page there.
Tools need a bleach soak to be sterilized because the materials used to make them tend to be porous and give viruses and bacteria a place to “hide” from surface disinfectants. Nobody’s disagreeing with that.
I’m also not talking about removing Hplvd from cuts or claiming that H2O2 can do that, just using that as an example that H2O2 can be used in some cases to kill viroids to counter the assertions that it can’t.
Would you think that includes Diggy’s “Box of Chocolates” Azad male crosses that he gave out in 2021. He and a grower friend did several crosses (so using 2 diff. Azad males.)
Possibly having the virus?
Thank you!
A valid point mentioned over in Rollitup.
So, what if this whole thing is a gawddamn sales pitch for UVC lights?! He makes good points that the article says “Scientists believe” ----WHAT scientists? Why aren’t they cited?
More fuckery, it seems. Told’ja
@HolyAngel here in the netherlands they all use h2o2 (it is stabilized h202 with silver or with patacetic acid)in their geenhouses but hey everybody must know what they do or believe
This is not your normal h2o2 that you buy in stores😉
If the thread title is accurate then that rate applies to the entire country as the clones being shipped out of Калифорния are going to the entire country daily
