Topped the Maui Wowie Cherry Bomb(MWCB) in the front left and attempting to clone it. Definitely has had some root issues going on by the looks of her, not sure why but should pull out of it here.
Purple Northern Lights #2 (PNL2’s) (NL#2 x Purple Unicorn F3) are in back. Tallest is the back left one at around 14 or 15 inches. Still waiting on gender reveals before topping. Starting to get impatient
Franco’s Lemon Cheese (FLC) (Super Lemon Haze x Exodus Cheese) #1 and #2 still coming along up-front between the MWCB and the Catgrass. Just waiting on some height to come in before putting those in the flower tent. #2 has that general spicy stem rub but it’s still early.
Everything still coming along… Still lower leaf noming but it’s slowed down a bit. Only the MWCB is complaining really. Had to move the fan to the top of the tent and point it down in order to get VPD back in order and raise the heat and humidity. Bout 70F/60%RH now so hoping she pulls out of it. Her clone is already perked up and looking great in the aerocloner. Still another week or two from up-potting and cloning the FLC #2. Probably at least that long for the #1 clone to go into the flower tent.
Purple NL2 #2 is a girl and has been topped. So two girls so far.
I’ve topped both at the 5th node(kept it) and dropped the first node, leaving nodes 2-5 for now. Planning to do the same with any others if they’ll hurry up about it hoping a couple more days… another week or so of veg to grow out the nodes a bit on the topped girls and then into the flower tent.
I think #1 and #4 may also be girls but not positive yet. I think #3 and #6 are boys but same deal, won’t know for another couple days.
Just looking at the leaves, I think I see a couple nl2 leaners (#4 for sure), a couple hybrids and a couple hybrids that are leaning towards purple unicorn… but it’s always a crap shoot with F1’s, they’re kinda everywhere.
Looks like the #3 and #6 (?), the two on the right-hand side have kind of rounder leaves than the others. I noticed that on the two I have, as well. One of them has noticeably rounder leaves than the other. I dunno if it’s an NL2 trait or a Purple Unicorn trait, but it’s something I’ve noticed. And I don’t really notice a whole lot in veg haha.
Yeah so 5/6 have the fattest closest together leaves and a denser structure, that’s what I think are the NL2 leaners. 3 is really close in the leaves but has a taller more open structure like PU, so 2/3 are what I’m saying are the hybrids. And then 1/4 are the PU leaners, thinner, very wide spaced leaves with the tall open structure.
Thought I had a shot of all of it on the plate but I guess not, smoked too much of this while trimming
Had a spicy lemon… or maybe spicy pine… smell while trimming everything up. These seem like they might do best after a long cure. Here’s a close-up of one of the tops.
Thanks! I’m happy with it! Again, it’s not close to the most potent thing I’ve ever had, nor is it super tasty or anything, but it’s great old school daytime smoke. Can still function but be high af, totally forgot that was a thing after all this modern hybrid stuff
#1, #3, #6 are males, #2, #4, #5 are females. Nice even split, and in phenos too. 1/4 are the PU leaners, 2/3 are kinda even mixes, and 5/6 are the NL2 leaners, #6 is especially bushy. Will keep and flower out all the girls. I’m leaning to keeping #1 and/or #6 for the males, and toss #3, but not sure yet.
Maui Wowie Cherry Bomb is up front on the left, still unsexed even though these are supposed to be fems, I’ve heard tell of a few males so we’ll hopefully know in a couple more days. FLC #2 is directly to her upper right, bigger plant. FLC #1 Coco grow is to the lower right, smaller plant. And then cat grass
So what I ended up doing to turn these around, is I bought some Roots Organic Elemental, 3lb bag was like $32, top dressed about a tablespoon per gallon and the growth has been noticeably constant ever since. Going to have to amend the rest of my soil with it.
But then again, it’s still early, and the FLC follow the same structure as my NL5HSS so makes sense they all look REAL similar. I think I see 2 with the NL5HSS Double Serrations, will have to wait a bit but those will likely be culled first.
Coming along, she’s starting to get into flower mode, we’re at 12 days into 11:30/12:30. This brown pot is starting to grow algae on the outside of it. Unsure what to do about that at the moment. I could fill the tray with hydroton but trying not too. Shoulda grabbed a black tray. Maybe I can fashion something that will extend out from the top of the pot and kinda shade the lower half
Need to top FLC #2 here in a couple more days, everything else is waiting on some height before going into the flower tent. PNL2’s/MWCB right around 10 inches currently. Think I’ll flower out the males to see what they look like before culling any. Not going for seeds yet but maybe wouldn’t mind keeping one of them.
Dude, seriously… That plant’s looking real fucking good. Got me re-thinking my organic ways haha… Love the structure and the way it looks like it’s just itching to grow. Bursting at the seams. What’s the “HSS” in that NL5HSS? Sorry if I’ve asked this a bunch already, my memory’s shot…
