But are you suggesting that he’s gonna re-sign with the Angels, just because he’s playing well (when isn’t he playing well?) and they’re four games over .500 (four games over .500 in late-July! Haha…)? That’s not happening. He’s signing with the Dodgers, pretty sure even Vegas has them as the odds-on favorite to sign him. And even in the very unlikely event that that doesn’t happen, he’s definitely not re-upping with the Angels. Never gonna happen.
It’s only funny if your team is anybody BUT the Dodgers. We have the deepest pockets, best coaching, multiple top-five players at their positions (Mookie, Freddie, Will Smith) and play in the postseason every single year. It’s well know that he doesn’t wanna play anywhere but on the West Coast, which leaves the Padres, the Giants and the Mariners. If you were him, would you pick any of those teams over a model franchise like the Dodgers? Especially since we can afford the 60-million+ per year that he’s gonna command and still keep a great team around him? I don’t think so…

I was just busting balls everything points hard to it, Dodgers haven’t spent a penny in prep for like a year now, but I still HIGHLY believe Steve Cohen is the wildcard in all of this, the guy has the pockets (and been known to do so) and even though I know Shohei isn’t all about $ there’s something to be said when 600 mil is the offer going and this deep pocket prick comes along and says “how’s 800 mil sound ? “ and he’s done shady shit multiple times. Then there’s the mariners, he has familiarity with the guy who actually scouted him (who was then working for yanks) plus the whole Japanese culture already there with Ichiro etc. And now that they both have built up their own “legends” he’s more liable to do so imo. everything is pointing to the dodgers but it’s far from a SURE thing at this point….
