Hurricane advice (without power for days)

Hey guys
Just a quick round of advice for us that are in Florida or for that matter, Dorians path. Last time the hurricane hit us (Florida), we were without power for 8 days or so. So if power is lost, and we have plants in the tent, what too do when lights go out for an extended period of time. Your thoughts (for all stages of growth)would be greatly appreciated

Outside for everything is what I do/ have done til power resumes… after all aren’t all indoor growers trying to replicate that big bulb in the sky?

I’d say in a sunny window if you happen to see the sun in the next few days providing your place survives the storm !

As long as they have some light they are tough, budding plants might suffer a bit but shouldn’t screw up you if decent genetics .

Good luck hope your property and yourselves survives the storm.

Once a plant is out of my tent and outside it never comes back in.
Best of luck to all in its path.

I have resorted to hanging flashlights above my plants during long outages. I remember one winter we were without power for 4 days and I had to run back and forth swapping out batteries lol

I lost power for 6 days during Michael’s visit to the neighborhood. I left the plants in the dark. When the lights came back on they were tired looking, but alive. In less than a week the plants were growing again. The yields were reduced, but everything in the flower and veg rooms survived.

I hope Dorian stays well east of the coast. I’m thankful to be far enough away from it to get just a breeze.

Besides the plants, hope you and your family are safe.

Take care bro!

Spider mites are hard to control once they get indoors is what I mean.
A temporary condition of losing power, excluding real hurricane damage, is recoverable at a cost to a single grow. Spider mites can extend their visit over many grows.

One solution you can try that is quick to implement is purchase several of these kinds of units, solar rechargeable led floodlights.

Here’s an even better alternative - folks can prepare for next power outage.
Plus you can pick your color temps.
