I am so sick of this happening

I can’t seem to figure it out.

Why are the buds so small. These plants must be 6 or 7 weeks into flower. It happens to heaps of strains but not all. But surely it shouldn’t happen so often. Why are rhe buds so small especially up top?

We need more details about your grow. That looks frosty though.

Probably in the genetics? Cookies? Breaths? Lots of tiny yielding stuff in the market these days.

Most of my thug pug stuff is tiny yielding

It does look like possibly the genetics and maybe too hot ?

Many new strains are bred to have small really dense nugs to help with airflow and combat pm or rotting while retaining flower weight. Just a spitball but from the photo it looks like it could be genetics.

I’d say what you got there is one of these new fangled elite modern strains where they claim tiny yields are not a bug but actually a feature! And because all the fanbois grovel and praise the emperors new clothes, all agreeing that tiny is mighty and that it’s not what you got, but how you use it…breeders actually get away with charging money for that shit!!! if it was me I’d just be thankful it’s not covered in bananas, that seems perfectly normal in super star seeds now days also. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hello,

What is the average temp and humidity you are running? What nutrient are you using? And what is your average PPM and PH readings? The stems seem very thin I would recommend complementing your weekly feed with some silica for thicker stems

:dart: This. All the modern hyper-inbred Gelato bagseed stuff has bananas and looks, but that’s about it IMO.

This is my thought too. Looks like cookies related to me and that’s why.

This is black truffle from 3rd coast

These are clones

The mother plant had bigger buds especially up top

It’s happened to a few strains of mine favourites especially the gorilla breath and killer glue (gg4) hybrids where after a gen or two the buds just started getting tiny and further spaced apart

Tent is definitely not too hot, mid 20s. Humidity around 60%

Gorilla breath and especially killer glue should be good yielders. The cherry festival I grew from 3rd coast is a small yielder, but the pure Michigan is decent. Your plant looks healthy enough, it just looks like it hasn’t filled out. Can’t explain the difference between your mother and your clones though, no sign of hop pox?

I grew some permanent marker that looked like your black truffle

What’s your PPFD/DLI?

also wondering if you’re running a high K feed or something

Could be that the clones don’t grow exactly the same as the seed plant. Just a guess

The only time I’ve experienced something like this was when i flowered out plants that were too big for my pots

Agree with many sentiments here; modern genetics often grow lower yields BUT, one thing I’ve noticed, these lower yielding plants are almost always waaaaay more frosty than the big donkeydick colas :man_shrugging:t2:

Me personally, I’d rather have smaller dense frosty nugs, than big baseball bats prone to inner mold merely because of their girth.

Oh also

I’ve definitely had seed grown plants yield slightly lower than the clones i took from them. Vice versa as well, I’ve had seed grown plants produce more than their clones in some cases :man_shrugging:t2:. I’ve even had marginal differences in yields from clones of the same mother ---- this specifically I chalk up to watering stress

After genetics, light, and humidity, some plants jus eat way more nutes then others. If your under feeding you’ll definitely see a smaller output.
