I find most media to be incredibly lacking in their coverage of just about everything. They seem to want to tell us what to think, as opposed to what is happening.
That being said, while wading through the current crap heap of reporting on world events, one thing kinda jumps out…
Fertilizer prices are already climbing, and it looks like it’s going to get MUCH worse in the coming year(s?).
I’m lining up on buying my nutes now while they’re still available, even though my pocket is going to take a hit that’s usually reserved for Xmas.
Something about Russia being sanctioned. I had just read something about putin complaining he can’t get fertilizers out because of the sanctions, but we explicitly didn’t sanction the fertilizers for that precise reason. The world needs them.
You would think with India banning fertilizers(really dumb) that there might be an excess…
I stocked up on a couple years worth of gypsum and maxibloom last year… kinda wanna go buy more lol
“Potassium production is the most concentrated. Two-thirds of all potassium reserves are supplied by only three countries: Canada, Russia, and Belarus.”
I blame the hyper focus on STEM education, and the back seating of language arts, history, the arts and music, government, etc. Basically all the things you can study and practice that include gray areas.
Ah, that would explain it. I hadn’t seen anything specifically saying why they couldn’t get them out other than “sanctions”. It being on the transport system would make sense though. Thanks for that!
I’m as much concernend about price as anything else. While it’s not like buying a car, it IS a “hobby”, and we are retired, so I try to watch $$ for things like potting soil and fert.
No news anymore just propaganda . The powers that be long ago decided the public no longer has enough intelligence to process bare facts & arrive at our own conclusion . I blame academia as they no longer educate but indoctrinate . Critical thinking is now an old persons disease …
I like a few “new media” Journalists/channels like Justin King(Beau of the fifth column) Democracy Now. Foreign news media has generally pretty accurate coverage too(BBC, Telesur English, Al Jazeera, shit even RT America before the War/sanctions had Chris Hedges. I’m on disability so I have nothing but time and an unhealthy fascination with geo-politics and economics, shit makes it really easy to fall back into depression though. The future is not looking super bright.
Well…on the UP side…you’re growing!..and it’s FREE!
We’ve grown up through 4-5 decades of some GREAT music, no matter what your tastes are.
Good food is pretty damned easy to make from scratch, so it’s CHEAP…
Music, weed, and food?..that tilts the scales to our favor, my friend.
And if you find time in there to do something for somebody else?..no matter how small it might be?..that’s bonus feel-good points, right there.
