Hi all,
this is my second indoor grow. these 3 AF’s are from seed,(super lemon haze, bruce banner, banana kush) the smaller plant is catching up after it germinated, I broke off a suger leaf by accident.
Conditions are same as last grow(my first), tent is 90cm x 90 cm x 180cm(3ft x 3ft x 6ft approx), led light is 300 watt pro grow full spectrum,
3 gal grow bags, 50/50 coco coir & perlite,
temp between 18 - 25 deg C,
humidity is approx 50% - 70% - I have installed a humidifier becoz our humidity is low at present, no settings i turn it on and run it, simple. when humidity for us is up near 55 - 70%, I turn the machine off.
I have been feeding Bio diesel -green diamond(part a & b) at 3ml per litre,
Pro Cal at 0.8ml per litre
pH: 5.8 - 6.4
EC:1.4 - 1.8 (slowly increasing nutrients)
average PAR: 430 - 448 (according to my APM092 quantum PAR metre) max par 500?
distance from light: 920mm/3 feet - each wk a little closer
Lights: 18 hrs on/4 hrs off
Why are these girls so short?
I thought OK, this grow I will practise my LST, bending and tieing over etc. But, these are so stout, its all happening down low.
They are healthy. I have never grown plants that are so compact, if outdoors these would be 2ft high at least.
I’m not super worried but, I am interested as to the combination of conditions that have supported this growth. The stem’s are thick, approx 3/8’s to 1/2 in
What day above ground are they?
Are they showing sex yet?
Everything sounds good and they look happy and healthy mate
If I had to hazard a guess I’d put it down to your light being 4000K and the extra blue light keeping them more squat. I’ve had the same thing happen with some Mephisto autos that I was growing under a ViparSpectra light that was on the “bluer” side of “full spectrum”
Actually come to think of it I had another plant stack 4 nodes at less than an inch tall under an old MH blurple that was switched to “veg” (no red) also .
The good news is that, with the autos at least, once they felt ready to flower they stretch like a teenager on a growth spurt (sometimes overnight ).
Pity you can’t dim the light, would save a bit of coin and help them stretch a little.
Though @ 4 wks I would be expecting them to be at least showing sex
Yes…today. is 7 wks, 2 days.
In flower now wk 7
Your words re info about my light, are food for my brain.
Allows me a new perspective! Being a semi isolated grower, its learning by doing.
Yes, it makes sense re the 4000k spectrum.
Man …they stretched. Had to move 1 out and trim the other 2 + tied down with a net.
Much debate re defoliate and autos.
Ive had to, that simple, and 1 in 3 feeds is water only. They are fine, they can take it i believe, layers of leaves not getting light, they had to go, seems to have burst into flower.
The super lemon haze is outside, not even starting to flower. Had 1 do it last summer, takes longer but much more size. Its not advertised as a long run variety but its simply taking its time
